• What year did you first get into DGM?

Around 2007, right when Link was introduced. He was unfriendly, ugly asf, and a bureaucrat to boot. I was hoping Allen would kick his face. Then I fell out around 2011, when the manga went on hiatus...and came back in around 2018. So yeah, been around awhile ^_^;;;

• Who’s your favorite character?

Oddly enough, LINK. This was after seeing him wonder how Allen wasn’t the diabolical Fourteenth Noah he was supposed to put down. And then he saved Allen. AND he carried him on his back after the Black Order got destroyed by the Level 4 Akuma. That was a lot of growth for a just-introduced character. o.o

• Who’s your least favorite character?

Lvellie. He has such a hold over Link and he doesn’t hesitate to use him for his own gain. WTF.

• Who’s your favorite general?

It’s a tie between Tiedoll (Bob Ross as a General is pretty bad ass!) and Klaude Nyne. She might not like me but I know I’ll learn from her.

• Who’s a character you would get along with?

Miranda, Noise, and Johnny. I’d be happy around them all the time.

• What kind of innocence would you have?

Would I even have Innocence? If I did, it probably would be water-based, like a water bender, lol.

• What’s your ship?

I live in rare pair hell. My doomed, ever-sinking ship, Kanda/Link. AFAIK there’s...2? 3 people out in fandom that have created stuff for them? I’m trying to write some fic but I’m horribly shy. So I commission art and fic, lol.

My other ships are rare OTPs and OT3s, mostly having to do with Link somewhere there: Kanda/Allen/Link, Nea/Link or pieshipping (ok that’s not rare). A fic idea I’m working on: Kanda/Alma/Link in a Castlevania AU.

• What’s your least favorite ship?

Lvellie/Link is my squick. Just not for me. I feel pretty meh about other ships, but not because I don’t like them. It’s more like I don’t have the brain power to process all of their potential, my ships are already using up my brain as it is!

• What branch would you want to be part of?

Black Order, but maybe the Science Division would be a better fit for me.

• What’s your favorite arc?

The Level 4 Ark, because we got Lenalee’s Dark Boots, she kicked that Level 4′s ass, and Link got some character development!

Rabdom 2 part question, you don't have to answer if you don't wan to I'm just curious. 1- are you a tinhat and 2- what do you think of the wives?

hiya love. i don't mind answering at all. i would say that i certainly have tinhat tendencies sometimes, but for me it falls under the fandom umbrella and fandom is for fun so i don’t get too deep into it. i can say that nothing would shock me as far as the js and their private lives go. well, almost nothing, i’d be shocked if one of them turned out to be a serial killer or a russian spy, but otherwise, all options are pretty much equally acceptable/reasonable to me. and it’s none of my business anyway.

i have very close to zero opinion on the wives? i have nothing against them but also i’m not here for them, yanno? i get irked when fandom gives them hate for lame ass shit that literally everyone does (like posting pics of their kids or whatever) but i’m super not here for that ‘yass queen’ business either. basically i regard them as i do most of the moms in my neighborhood- solidarity if you need it, no hate, but let’s never ever interact on a personal level.

I did notice they’re older posts. You can tell by Link’s bangs, lol.  I got more serious into fandom like...last year (Dec. 16th, to be exact, omg). So it’s old news to other fans, but idgaf! Link’s in the post, I’m reblogging it

what we need atm to fill the yawning void between chapter releases:

an OVA one shot D.Gray-man movie.

just like what other anime series have between seasons/filler episodes. insert whatever series you want, the majority of anime movies for a series have in common:

one shots stories therefore automatic alternate universes

random cardboard villains so unbelievably evil that even the Noah want to kill them ded it’s cathartic to watch the Big Damn Heroes finally f*ck them up

animation bump = cooler fights/battles

explore minor/background points of the world setting (other Black Order branches? How Central/CROW was established? the Millenium Earl taking over Japan?)

match movie setting to a season/theme (is it matsuri season? time for a trip to the hot springs, anyone? Innocence hunting?)

maybe explore a minor character’s background/arc (the other Generals; stories about the Science Division, etc)

random exorcist (for duration-of-movie) character

random movie love interest(s)

everyone gets a Badass Moment, even the villains

This wonderful post “Apocryphos: Slayer or Saviour?” by @dgm-allensexual got my hamster wheels spinning. Apocryphos is 7000 years old. Meaning he was there during the actual war between the Earl and the civilization who last wielded Innocence/the Heart, or created shortly after. So, he’s seen lots of Exorcists and previous reincarnations of the Noah. When he talks about becoming one with Allen, it sounds like he has done this before.

So, my two cents on Apocryphos.

How does Apocryphos control other Innocence?

Headcanon time: As a Servant of the Heart (makes me wonder if there are MORE out there like him!), Apoc likely has some authority over Innocence that they *must* respond to. The reason he can synch to other Innocence is that he may have the power to convince Innocence into believing *he* is their original Accommodator. At least long enough to force synchronization so it doesn’t harm him, or turn it against the real one. (It was in the anime-only scene that Apoc synched and grabbed Judgement from Cross, but in both anime and manga, he shot Cross with it.) Forced synchronization is a thing, as Hevlaska has demonstrated.

Extending the power of manipulating Innocence, Apoc’s moves usually involve psychic manipulation on people (Link, the Crow guards, Kanda, a ton of people in a public square, etc.) and being durable as fcuk (shot point blank by Jasdevi).

Back to Apoc’s power over other Innocence: does he leave them behind, like he did Judgment? Does he absorb them into himself? My headcanon says he might be keeping some of them on hand, so I would not be surprised if Apoc has other abilities up his sleeves. If Apoc can’t free himself from the Noah, I’m going to be sorely disappointed in him!

Whether any Innocence actually *wants* to obey Apoc is another question. Kanda’s curse seal fought back so that he could remember his encounter with Apoc. If all Innocence were simply obedient to the goal of eradicating Akuma/the Noah, why should it matter to the seal (or Mugen) if Kanda remembered fighting Apoc? Crown Clown flares up whenever Apoc is near, but doesn’t exactly slow Allen down as he flees. Crown Clown can already force Allen’s body to fight *while he is unconscious*, so if it was driven by actual desire to ‘become one’, wouldn’t it try harder to make Allen stay put for him?

What happened to those Accommodators that ‘became one’ with Apocryphos?

Headcanon: Apocryphos was created from at least *one* of those long-ago Exorcists. Allen said he ‘feels the presence of an Accommodator’ before Apoc declared himself an independent Innocence. The Cardinal’s human form could be his *actual human form* before he became Apocryphos. He then reverts back to it when he needs to move among the mundanes.

My muse spins its hamster wheels thinking about what that person’s life was like. Did he fight in the previous war 7000 years ago? Did he know the first Millenium Earl? Combine these thoughts with the amazing discussion link above, and it’s a pretty potent mix for writing!

Next time, Apocryphos vs. Lvellie/Leverrier, a NoTP that I find horribly fascinating. <3 And why this is bad for Link.
