Excerpts from DWM 589 - Paul Kirkley's interview with the directors of the three 60th Anniversary Specials:

DWM: Tell us about working with David and Catherine. It seems they came back to Doctor Who for the sheer love of it. Was that obvious on set? Tom Kingsley, director of Wild Blue Yonder: They're so good together. And they know those characters so well. It was just a delight. Occasionally, I'd need to give them a little nudge in one direction. And half the time, that would be all good, and half the time, David might be like, "Tom, I'll absolutely try it, but I'm not actually sure the Doctor would do that..." He knows what he's doing, David, but he's also very gracious, and he'll try anything. He literally runs to the set in the morning. He's so confident, but in such a calm, friendly way. Like he's just very happy to be there. He just seems like a man who's very settled and happy. And Catherine brings this extra cheeky energy to stuff - which is often just trying to make David laugh.
