It wasn't fair. Everyone else had found their twin when they went through puberty. Derek didn't know what went wrong. He was in his 20's and he hadn't found other-Derek, and his family was starting to talk. 'Never going to find him', they whispered, 'stunted development, he's always going to be be so surly and quiet', they said behind closed doors. It was the main reason why he didn't have many friends. He didn't want to get close to somebody and still know that they weren't his soul mate.

Damien wasn't well off either. Their species was dying off, and he had been taken into a merfolk conservatory in the local aquarium. It wasn't bad. He got fed, entertained, socialized with the other creatures, something was just missing.

Lessons|Howling-alpha

Mr. Hale was a beautiful man. The way he filled his shirts out. The way he just walked around with an exuding amount of confidence. His usually stern face was always off set by the glint of his soft, hazel eyes.

Whenever Christian sat in his class, it was impossible to focus on anything. The lectures easily entered one ear and went out the other. The man could easily be talking about his daily shaving routines and Christian would still stare at him, as if he was actually paying attention. Luckily Mr. Hale wrote everything on the board, otherwise Christian would never get his homework or reading done.

Today was of course no different. Christian was staring idly at the older male as he walked back and forth in front of the class. There wasn't a part of Christian that knew what the man was talking about. Which is generally how the class usually went.

The Mentor

It's been almost a week since Salem was bitten. After he woke up that day in Derek's house, everything was different. He could smell things no human would have smelled before, everything around him was enhanced and his hearing...Salem heard some things he knew was not meant for his ears. 

He was also conflicted. Derek helped him that day and he wanted to let him be since he was not his burden. Yet...there was a lot of questions he had and he had to go get some help before he accidentally killed.

The house was very brooding but Derek's scent was all over it so it was obviously his. He knocked on the door and stood at the base of the steps with the hairs on his neck and arms raised. He really needed some guidance.
