Moon 46-Leaf-bare

More bad news.  Brightfalcon(89) has become nest-ridden with grief and nightmares of her lost mate.  She is unable to work.  To make matters worse, Howlkit (5) hasn’t recovered from her kittencough and is now very sore on top of it.  Furthermore, Bushmask (56) has come down with Yellowcough.  The Clan worries that some of these cats won’t survive.  Shadestar (141) is very stressed, but appreciates how reliable Sunflower (110) is.  Shadestar was checking in on the sick cats, and overheard a joke from Howlkit that she didn’t get.  She doesn’t care though.  She just wants her Clan to be healthy again.  Chervilcry (25) confides in Stonefreckle (29) that she is feeling overworked from the stressors that have been plaguing the Clan lately and he comforts her.  Meanwhile, Antlerkit (3) had a nightmare about Brightfalcon dying like Stormrush did, but there was no one there to comfort her.  She feels alone.

Moon 45- Leaf-bare

This is the leaf-bare that keeps on giving.  Howlkit (4) has gotten kittencough, which is not a good sign, seeing as she can’t move to clear up her chest.  Brightfalcon (88) doesn’t think she has enough herbs or magical prowess to grow some herbs.  Rosemarykit (2) has no interest in helping grow the plants, but Antlerkit (2) wishes that she had an earth-blessing to help out..  She wishes her wind powers could be more helpful to Howlkit.  She argues with Rosemarykit about it and they end up feeling resentful towards each other.  Brightfalcon doesn’t have time to deal with it, so the kits are left to simmer in their resentment.  Meanwhile, the Clan is talking about the bad luck cats have had with their mates dying.  Chervilcry (24) keeps glancing at Stonefreckle (28) as the Clan talks about this.  Maybe the two of them would get lucky. . .?  Having lost her deputy, her close friend, and her mate in the past moon, Shadestar (140) is feeling her age and the burden of leadership.  She isn’t sure how much longer she wants to do this.  But she also doesn’t feel like Yuccawillow(24) is ready to lead.  Meanwhile, Yuccawillow hopes that Shadestar notices that she’s been improving in her deputy duties.  It’s been hard for her to learn to actually do work instead of just coasting on others’ high opinions of her. The Clan also adds another loner to the Clan: a powerless, injured tom named Bird (74).  Brightfalcon isn’t a fan of having another cat to care for but. . .oh well.  She’ll see what she can do.
