★★Tips for maintenance your generator★★
According to the prior articles, a gen-set is composed of 2 main parts i.e. generator part and engine part. In this article, we will give you an advice or tips for maintenance both parts as follow;
1. Before operating a gen-set, you MUST CHECK the auto-lube level and fill up the fuel tank.
2. Should have the auto-lube or oil changed regularly.
- the suitable schedule for oil change depends on the frequency of use (for your engine or gen-set.)
- If the gen-set is operated every day, the oil change will be once a month. However, if the gen-set is operated once a month, the oil change will be once in 3 or 4 months.
3. Do not disassemble the cover or some part of a gen set because some small animals such as rodents like to bite electric wire.
4. Do not adjust engine’s speed or accelerator because each generator normally works in fixed speed. Therefore, arbitrary adjusting the speed can cause damage to a generator part.
5. Do not connect any load to a gen-set before operating it. The correct way to use a gen-set is to start its engine and let the gen-set operate and create the electricity itself for a while. Then, when the gen-set is stable, you can plug in any load or any electrical appliances that you want to use. Also, when you finish your work, please turn off all of your load or electrical appliances before shutting down the gen-set.
6. Do not overuse a gen-set. Please consider watts or kilo watts for each electrical appliance before using or connecting it to gen-set. Do not connect the load which consumes more power than the kilowatts a gen-set can produce.
