11 Questions
I was tagged by howtotrainyourwarlock (I don't know how to link on mobile but seriously they're wonderful go follow them!) thanks for tagging me ❤️ 1. High or Contemporary Fantasy? I love both buuut... High fantasy. I have a thing for the maps in the beginnings of high fantasy books. Mm. 2. What genre do you read the most? Young Adult fantasy, probably. By probably, I mean definitely. 3. Do you own any fandom merchandise? Sure. The one that comes to mind is my Mortal Instruments earrings that I love. Or my Hannibal t-shirt. 4. Fictional place you wish was real? Hooooogwarts! 5. Do you read/write fanfiction? I don't write any fanfiction, and the only fanfiction I read is Raven Cycle fanfic. I'm a sucker for Blue and her Raven Boys. 6. How many books do you own? Probably around ~250? 7. Was there ever a point in time you didn't like books? Not that I can remember! When I first learned to read, I enjoyed reading those Great Illustrated Classics for kids books to my nana (Black Beauty was my fave). OHH and when I was in first grade I would always get in trouble for reading nonfiction books about hamsters under my desk during math. 8. Pick a book-loving character? (e.g. Belle from Beauty and the Beast) Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices, all the way. 9. Does the rest of your family love reading? Any of my immediate family? Not really. Dad reads Game of Thrones but that's it. Mom enjoys reading when she gets the time but that's only in the summers when we're on the beach. My sister is not a reader. It's hard for her, so I understand why she doesn't. But she's trying to read Paper Towns now and I am very proud of her! 10. If you were stuck dying on a desert island and you only had a scrap of paper to describe your whole life, which book title would you write down? This is a weird question but I guess Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell describes me pretty well. 11. Have you ever had a book crisis? Of course. I TAG ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO ANSWER THESE. Put my url in the tags when you do and I'll read yours! ALSO proudvictimoffiction and celestialspaceastro (I know you're an astrology blog so you don't have to if you don't want to).

Chapter 1: I Can Do Better
I was running as fast as I could. My best friend and unofficial twin Kirsten was trying to keep up. There was no way I could slow down, not when I felt this free. The wind was running through my white fur and I could feel the dirt under my paws as I dodged tree after tree. I saw the sun above us, telling us it was almost time to go back to meet the men that will fight to be my mate.
Kirsten howled, letting me know its time. I grunted and turned around. Kirsten turned around too and we jogged back, neither happy about this. My mating meant that there was a chance of me leaving forever. Kirsten had already mated to our other best friend Christopher. He’s a solid black wolf with white tips.
It’s pretty freaking awesome.
Anyways, they’re perfectly happy and together in our pack.
My mate might be from another pack and then I’d have to leave since the guy controls where the mated pair goes.
Ugh. Wolf women need more rights.
We arrived at my house to find Mom making it spotless. I rolled my eyes and nudged the door open with my nose. Kirsten and I walked in and laid down in front of the TV.
Mom sighed and just stopped trying to clean cause she knew we weren’t gonna move so she could vacuum.
I stood up to get the remote. I grabbed it and laid back down then started to change the channel with my nose, a skill I am very proud of.
My dad walked out and said, “You two go upstairs and get yourselves presentable, especially you Krystal,” my dad pointed at me accusingly, “You’re the one who needs to look nice.”
I grunted and went back to watching TV. Dad didn’t like that though because then he reached down, grabbed the remote, and turned the TV off. I whimpered and looked up at him. He pointed to the stairs.
Kirsten and I got up and trudged up the steps. I nuzzled my door open and we went inside. I nudged my door shut and we changed back into our human forms.
You know how I said Kirsten was my unofficial twin? Well, not really. We’re the exact opposite in looks. She’s a tall thin Indian girl with long black hair, tan skin, and deep blue eyes. I’m a tall thin white girl with long blonde hair, pale skin, and hazel eyes.
It’s our personalities that make us twins. We think the same, act the same, like and dislike the same things. The only difference is that Kirsten dresses more nature-y than me and she curses a lot more than me.
I walked over to my dresser and pulled out some underwear and clothes for myself while Kirsten got dressed in what she wore over here. She slipped on her ‘hippy’ jeans and her t-shirt that said, “Don’t just hug a tree; Plant one.”
My dad told me to look nice, so I took out my baggy, trashy jeans with holes in the knees that Kirsten and I made look like monsters with permanent marker and my black tank top that cut off an inch above my belly button . I slipped them on and threw my messy blonde hair up in a clip. I looked over in the mirror and smiled.
Dad will have a cow.
I heard the doorbell ring. Kirsten and I looked at each other and took off running to the door. We were laughing and pushing each other the whole way down.
However, my dad got there first.
Next, a summary for a story I wrote a whole first chapter to, ON PAPER then never typed.
Skylar Bloom has been going through the process of being genetically mutated since before birth. She lives a mostly a normal teenage life, but the HBRD (Human Biological Research and Development) Corporation doesn’t know that she knows everything.
Since she was little, she would ‘visit her mom’ during the summer. The reality was that she was being tested on and mutated. They kept her in a cryotank when they weren’t messing with her genetic code. From all the sedative she’s been given since she was 3, she has built up immunity to it, and it no longer works on her body. She knows everything about herself that she’s not supposed to know.
She tells her only friend, Vivian Sparks, and Vivian informs a mysterious group who infiltrates HBRD headquarters and stops everything corrupted and inhumane. The group calls themselves The Protectors, saying that they will have HBRD Corp. completely destroyed; no traces of it anywhere, and no way it can rise from the ashes.
Gabriel Parker. 18 years old, and already eager to do everything in his power to help mankind. When he hears that a girl only a year younger than him has been in trouble since before birth, he cannot stay away. When they meet, sparks fly. Can Gabriel be Skylar’s knight in shining armor?
When Skylar reaches the age of 18, her transformation will be complete, and she will become Inhuman. Can Gabriel and The Protectors help her before it’s too late?
Next, one that isn’t complete crap, and I wrote before I knew about trans people, so i’d have to change the name of the bad guys so that it isn’t offensive
Chapter 1
August 24, 2023 My name is Cameron. I am 15 years old. I'm writing this because the world has come to an end. Humanity has fallen against an unseen enemy, Mitolen. Most of the human race have fallen victim to this deadly virus. I am one of the few who has managed to stay alive this long. Mitolen doesn't just kill the human body. It takes it over. After the mind is destroyed, the virus reanimates the body and uses it as a weapon. The common name for these creatures is Transfigurines. We call them ‘Tranies’ for short. They are a lot like the mythical 'Zombie' but these creatures are much different. They can communicate with each other, live civilized with one another, and pretty much act as human beings. The difference is that they eat human flesh. They, however, can be killed just as we are. There is no nonsense of having to just shoot them in the head. You get one in the heart and it's down. I guess looking at it they're more like cannibals. But these creatures inherit inhuman powers from the virus. They don’t get super human strength or speed, but they do get inhuman hearing. They can hear up to half a mile away. They also have amazing eyesight. It is much like a cat. Their eyes absorb light in a dark room and enable them to see clearly. These abilities make it very hard for us to be able to live without being caught. We go into town to get the food they don't eat and lose at least one person every month. These creatures also change their form. Not in a big way, more like vampires. They get teeth like a shark and their eyes go completely black. They also grow claws like a cat. I have a cat. Her name is Butterball. She annoys me a lot but I love her. She protects my little sister and me when we go out. She can sense when they're coming. I don't know how, but she can... Anyways, as of right now, that's all I know about Mitolen. Now I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a girl, despite the sound of my name. I have curly blonde hair and plain brown eyes. I am 5 foot 7 inches. I live within a small community of about 20 cabins in the middle of a forest up in Colorado. We’re surrounded by mountains so one knows it's out here, especially not the Tranies. I live with my little sister, Abigail. Everyone calls her Abby though. She’s nine. She is the reason I keep fighting. My parents fell victim to the virus a while ago. We ran across them once. They tried to lure us in, but I knew by the look in my father's eyes that they no longer lived. He always looked at me with such warmth in his eyes, but this time, they were as cold as ice... But, as soon as I realized that, I grabbed Abby, pulled out my .45 and shot them both through the head. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do... Abby still has nightmares about that. Frankly, so do I, but I don't tell her that for fear she would get even more frightened than she already is. She sees me as a hero, and in her eyes, heroes don't have nightmares. The thing is I'm not sure if I'm cut out to be a hero. I'm not even sure if I can save myself...
Cameron sighed, closed her new diary, and looked out the window of her cabin in her room. She looked longingly into the sunset falling beneath the trees and wished for how things were a year ago. She was so excited to turn 15 because 15 meant you were only a year away from driving. That’s all she had ever wanted to do. Now, all she wants to do is keep her sister safe. Where is Abby? She thought. She pushed away from her little wooden desk in her small room and walked out. She glanced in Abby’s room before making her way into the living room. She saw her little sister curled up under a blanket by the fireplace with Butterball sleeping next to her. She smiled and took in the sight. Even before the plague swept the world, her little sister did this. She’d come down in the middle of the night to get a drink of water and see Abby curled up next to the blazing fire place. She would then take her upstairs and put her to bed. Tonight, however, she would leave her sister be. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed her keys off of the counter. She walked through the little entry way and out the front door. She paused and locked the door before continuing on through the little village she now called home. It wasn’t much, just a cluster of cabins with one main building. Every cabin had a solar panel so the survivors didn’t risk the chance of a Tranie detecting borrowed energy and finding their little safe haven. There is also a river running along the outer edge of the little village where they have yet another energy source: a water mill. Cameron didn’t exactly know how all of this ran, but she did know that anything they have to do to keep the Tranies away was okay with her. She kept walking until she reached the little trail near the mouth of the village. She paused to look and see if anyone was around. No one. She smiled and took off down the forbidden trail like she did every night. She followed it for about half a mile until she reached her destination: the lake. It was a simple lake. It’s not very big at all but not quite small enough to consider a pond. Cameron ran over to the shore and quickly got rid of her clothing until only her bathing suit remained. She glanced out across the lake and saw the moons reflection shimmer on the water. She smiled and waded in until only her head was above the cool water then pushed off and began swimming out into the middle of the lake. Once she got to her destination, she turned over and began to float on her back. In moments like this, Cameron could pretend that the apocalypse hadn’t happened. She could pretend everything was perfect. Right then, to her, everything was perfect. But for another about twenty miles away, it was anything but perfect… Chapter 2
Erik grabbed his little brother Dylan and pulled him into a convenience store on the edge of town. So close! He thought. I was so close to getting us out of this hell hole! He pulled Dylan down behind the counter and covered his mouth. He heard the door burst open and the bell chime. He looked down at his little brother and saw fear in his small ten year old eyes. Erik put his pointer finger up to his lips, signaling Dylan to be quiet. Dylan nodded, his messy brown hair swishing back and fourth. Erik removed his hand from Dylan’s mouth and then reached for the pistol strapped to his hip. He heard the Tranies trying to find them. “Where are they?” He heard one say. It sounded like it was right behind him. “I don’t know. I can’t hear them and I don’t see them out here. How about you go check in the back?” “Okay.” Erik heard footsteps coming around the counter. Okay, so I know there are at least two. I have six shots before I need to reload. He looked over at Dylan. Once these guys are down, we run like hell into the forest. Hopefully, if God is on our side, we’ll find that haven that that man was talking about. Erik quit his musings once he saw the tip of a boot. Ready… GO! He stood up and pulled out his pistol. The Transfigure snarled and started to change. Erik pulled the trigger. The Tranie fell to the ground. Erik turned to the rest of the store and saw three others. He quickly shot each of them in the chest and they all fell. Erik silently thanked his father for teaching him how to aim. He reached down and grabbed Dylans arm. They both took off running through the aisles. As they passed one of the Tranies, Erik reached down and grabbed the rifle it had. Once they made it out of the store, they ran. Dylan noticed some Tranies had stopped what they were doing and were now chasing after them. That fact made him move his legs faster, determined to get away from those demons. Erik knew there was no way he could make it out of town alive, much less with Dylan. Then a blessing from above was found: a motorbike. He ran over and, thank God, it had the keys in the ignition. He and Dylan got on and Dylan latched himself to his older brother. Erik started the bike and blew away from the curb right as the Tranies caught up with him. After that, it was smooth sailing. They would follow the road into the forest and as soon as it dead ended, they would ditch the bike and go on foot. This place has to be real, Erik thought, because if it’s not, I might be killing both Dylan and myself right now. After they had been driving through the wooded area for a good five minutes, Dylan began pounding on Erik’s back. He immediately pulled over, seeing as they had covered a lot of distance and had plenty of tree cover, plus Dylan wouldn’t be freaking out if there wasn’t a good reason. “What is it Buddy?” Erik asked as Dylan immediately jumped off the bike and began emptying the contents of his stomach. When he finished, he wiped his mouth on the back of his jacket sleeve and said, “Don-don’t go so fast next time.” He hick-upped and climbed back on the bike. Erik sighed, “Sorry Bud, but we had to get out of there fast.” “Do you even know where this place is?” Dylan asked. Erik laughed and didn’t answer. Instead he revved the bike and resumed their journey only this time at a slower pace.
Chapter 3
Cameron sighed and looked up at the full moon. “I should probably go,” she said to herself and began swimming back to shore. Once she was in walking distance, she heard the faint sound of an engine. “What?” She looked around and noticed a headlight emanating from the brush across the lake. Cameron took off running for the shore. She got there right as the bike did. She grabbed her clothes and hid behind a tree, watching from a safe distance. There were two boys. One was about her age, judging by height. The other looked to be between 7 and 10. They crouched down by the water and took a drink. Cameron cringed, thinking of all the bacteria that probably lived in the water they were ingesting. The older one sat down and pulled the younger one into his lap and began examining him. Cameron decided then that it was okay to show herself. “Hey!” She waved her arms and the boys noticed her quick. Erik looked up when he heard a greeting hollered from across the lake. He saw a girl, probably fifteen, in a bikini waving her arms frantically, trying to get their attention. “Erik, look!” Dylan said excitedly. He jumped to his feet and tried to pull Erik to his.
Next, a myth I had to write for my 7th grade english class.
Quinn had everything. She was beautiful, a warrior for Zeus himself, and men were always courting her. Not to mention she was the goddess of weather. She helped the crops grow and kept the temperature perfect for them. Nyx was a regular man. He was a blacksmith, crafting armor for all the demigod warriors, wishing he was one of them. He heard many men talking about how they had met Lord Ares, Lady Aphrodite, and killed the Minotaur. Nyx longed for action; for using the weapons that he crafted so finely. He never thought he would get that chance. Quinn had been strolling through the market place, looking for absolutely nothing in particular. Nothing had caught her fancy enough for her to feel the need to waste her drachmas; until she ran across the blacksmiths shop. On display, there was a beautiful sword. The handle was diamond and ruby in-crested and the blade had these words carved along the edge in ancient Greek, “Love is the only true reason to fight.” Quinn immediately fell in love with the sword. She glanced around for the shop owner, but saw no one. “Excuse me, is there someone in here?” She called out. No answers. Then a very handsome man walked out. He had jet black hair, a very sculpted body (which Quinn could only see because this man was not wearing a shirt right now) and he had the most beautiful deep blue eyes. “Yes?” asked the man. Quinn melted into his voice. “Is there something I can help you with, miss?” Quinn nodded, and asked how much the sword was. Nyx told her that it was 1,000 drachmas. Quinn happily paid him and went along her way with her new weapon. After that, neither could get each other out of their minds. Once Quinn got back to Olympus, Lady Aphrodite was teasing Quinn that she was in love with a mortal man. Quinn ignored the goddess of love, like she normally does, but that night, she couldn’t get Nyx out of her head. It was the same for Nyx. He lay in his bed, thinking about the beauty of the goddess he had witnessed that day. He wondered who she could be, since he had never seen her before. He thought about the way her hair fell around her face; the way she carried herself. Nyx refused to say he was in love. He refused. But he knew it was true. Soon enough, Quinn gave in to her desire to see him, and went down to Earth. She saw him once a month. A month, though, soon turned into a week, a week turned into every two days. Quinn was in love. Nyx was always trying to impress Quinn. Whether it was with his strength or with his ability to love deeply, he always gave it his all; always for Quinn. One day, Quinn stopped by when he was in the middle of molding a sword for a new customer. That fascinated Quinn, and that became her favorite thing to do with Nyx. Soon enough, though, Quinn got so distracted that the weather started to change. The dryads and naiads, usually peaceful, fun-loving creatures, went up in arms. They created then unleashed a horrid monster to go and destroy Nyx so the goddess would no longer be distracted. Quinn and Nyx were walking through the town square hand in hand when they heard a terrible scream. Quinn immediately jumped into action. She ran towards the horrible sound, her sword drawn. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the beast. It was nearly 20 feet tall, and was hideous. It looked like a human tree. She didn’t know what to make of it. But Nyx did. He drew the sword he never used from its sheath, and charged the monster. Together, Quinn and Nyx fought the beast. At one point, the beast grabbed Quinn with his roots and drug her underground. Fear coursed through Nyx, and his next move was impulsive. He started climbing the tree to get closer to its ‘heart’. Soon enough, he found it and thrust his sword through the bark. The creature screamed, and burst into dust. Nyx tried desperately to get Quinn back from underground and when it looked like all hope was lost, her hand broke through the surface. The dryads and naiads were furious, but they were found out, and were punished severely by their lords. After that, Lord Zeus was mesmerized by Nyx fearlessness in battle, and rewarded him with immortality. Quinn and Nyx were able to be together forever. But, after Nyx started working with Hephestus, Quinn realized that the weather had taken a horrid turn. Everything was freezing and the air was cold. She then understood why that creature had come after her. She tried with all her strength to change it back, but it took her a long while. After things when back to normal, Quinn and Nyx where wed. They lived in a castle in the clouds where Quinn could keep control over the weather. But, as September came around, it started to get cold again. The trees and crops started dying, and the mortals were growing scared. Quinn didn’t know what to do. She had never seen it do this. Lord Zeus told her it was because the sky had grown use to the changes. Zeus told her it was her job to explain to the mortals what was happening. And that she did. She told them her story, and why the weather was changing. She told them that the cold was nothing to fear, and that it would go away in a few short months. That is why the Earth has seasons.
The End.
And finally, this is just a prologue I wrote, cause I never finish shit
Prologue: Renegade
“And so it was, the child born on the eve of the twenty ninth of February shall posses a gift that will assist her in the great journey that awaits her…”
My mother told me that I was the child of a freaking prophecy today. At first, I thought she was trying to pull some Harry Potter bullshit, but she was serious. Now I’m up in my room, the words of the prophecy stuck in my head like an annoying song.
My name is Skylar Bloom. I’m about as average as you can get. I’m 5 foot 5”, blonde, and I have hazel eyes. They aren’t even the pretty hazel; they’re the hazel that people tell me are green. I’m fifteen, about to be sixteen. My parents are happily married. I’m an only child, not a twin or triplet. I’m not Emo, Scene, Goth, Nerdy, Jock, or at the bottom of the ‘popular’ list.
So what if was born on a day that only comes every four years? I’m still average.
So why is it I have to be the child of the prophecy?
