Hello all well?! Hope so! Now she wanted to know in a TVD crossover with Harry Potter where Bonnie is a witch in the style of Harry Potter, but the universe of vampires and supernatural creatures of TVD exists and she has yet to fight against these forces of evil. How would you imagine that? And what couple would you do with Bonnie? Someone from TVD or Harry Potter?
Lilly my love! I am doing alright. Been tired and over it the last couple of days but I am getting better. I feel like I kind burnt myself out working on school stuff and work has been bad but I just have tomorrow and then I am off for a couple of days so at least I have a break coming. Plus school is done for now until January so that takes some stuff off my workload.
But this ask is waking me up a bit today. I feel like I did a big meta and fic idea for this idea on my old blog but I would be happy to revisit this idea. I am going to preface this with excuse me if I fuck this up because I am tired and its been a while since I have been in the HP fandom or seen these movies. Lowkey marathoning this weekend though. Lol Bonnie in the Potterverse…lets go!
So I have always had this headcanon that the reason that Bonnie has nose bleeds and has trouble maintaining and controlling her power is because she is doing magic without a wand! 😂 In my mind Bonnie and witches like her would be like the inverse of an Obscurial, where instead of the magical energy being the result of repression of magic, Bonnie and in particular the Bennett line would manifest so much power it becomes impossible to repress (meaning they could effortlessly do magic without a wand though it’d have its drawbacks) and would manifest uncontrollably and grows over time, so much so that it inspired fear in the Wizarding world leading to their banishment and so they fled to the Americas where they began creating spells and a magical culture of their own which manifest in TVD style witches and grew into different subcultures influenced by the cultures they encountered (voodoo, tribal magic, ect.) , that could use their powers and manipulate their powers and construct and create different types of magic,and have the Bennetts be the start of and key to everything, only their magic is still not as easy to control and wears on the body in the most powerful of the witches of their kind. So of course this magic that they created birthed creatures and spells that no one in the HP verse knew about, ie. TVD canon Vamps, Werewolves, Hybrids, since TVD made witches create everything anyway (and yet still made them somehow subservient and unimportant unless they were white but I digress) ect.
In this universe the Bennett’s are so well known because they are the line that started it all and the strongest and most powerful. In this universe in my mind Bonnie being the last of the line is such a big deal because she is the last piece the the prophesy, as in the “Power the Dark Lord knows not”…this is something Dumbledore knows which is why Bonnie has been getting a Hogwarts letter every year, ones she never sees because Rudy has been hiding them for fear of his daughters fate.Then Bonnie becomes vulnerable when Sheila dies and the blood magic protecting Bonnie and her house dies with her. Also Abby left Bonnie not because of some stupid convoluted Elena centered plot point or some other selfish reason that would cause Bonnie pain, but to become a double agent against Voldemort in the same vein as Snape, to protect the secret of Bonnie’s existence and bring him down from the inside. I think it would be interesting to see Abby playing both sides and portrayed as an antihero and her actually having genuine die hard love for Bonnie.
I also want to see Bonnie at war with this darkness that is under the surface. I want to see the power seduce her a bit and corrupt her a bit. I’d want to see a layered story that is an internal and external struggle between good and evil, because I feel like a lot of the mains in HP are warring two sides and could be pushed one way or the other given the right motivation or manipulation and that’s kind of the point. I think this is particularly the case with Harry and Draco. Which brings me to pairings, I am terrible but I’d want a Harry/Bonnie/Draco triangle. I don’t care I want it.
I would also lowkey ship Bonnie with Tom if it was anything like the Tom/Ginny story arc 😉 But anyway as far as the pairings I feel like Harry/Bonnie/Draco could be the main. I think there would be interesting dynamics with Bonnie with both and I could particular get into the potential push/pull with her and Draco. Also I feel like Bonnie would just be bait for a lot of the men in both universes if we are speaking realistically not just from a power standpoint but because of her fierce loyalty, her morality, her selflessness, that underlying darkness I spoke of and her bravery (can you tell I would sort her in Gryffindor? Because I would sort her in Gryffindor). I would definitely have some unrequited interest going on from a few men and women in both TVD/HP verse where Bonnie is concerned. Lowkey would be here for her and Blaise, would have to throw Bonnie and probably a few of the Originals in there showing interest, especially Klaus. I just want all the ships and all the attention and love for Bonnie!
I would love to see Bonnie go toe to toe with a lot of the characters from HP. I have so many ideas and feels! There’s so much that could be played around with here. Ugh. Someone write this because I ain’t got the time.
