You have got to be kidding me
This is a shot of the cupboard under the stairs from the Finding Harry show on HBO. I have so many thoughts😭
First of all, the drawings??? The motorbike with the green light — I love the way it shows that Harry is trying to place his vague memories and dreams of the night his parents died (the green light, a flying motorbike), and he drew it as though the green light was coming from the motorbike’s headlights! And then all the other bicycle drawings and clippings — I can spot at least four. We know how much Harry wanted a bicycle (“he was five, watching Dudley riding a new red bicycle, and his heart was bursting with jealousy” — OOTP chapter 24, Occlumency). Break my heart, why not.
And then the other drawings: a drawing of himself playing football, a cute dog, a squirrel, a bird, a skateboard…and the clippings of football players, and skateboarders, and nature scenes. Yes yes yes to showing Harry having normal interests as a kid!
Second of all: the stickers. The STICKERS. They are the stickers you find on fruits from the grocery store, and it looks like he has a whole collection of them😭 Idk why this makes me sad, it just does. It’s like his own little makeshift sticker book, my gosh.
And last but certainly not least…the hanger. A gift from the Dursleys (“Of course, his birthdays were never exactly fun — last year, the Dursleys had given him a coat-hanger and a pair of Uncle Vernon’s old socks.” — PS chapter 3, The Letters from No One). I was thinking about it, and this has got to be the most gut-wrenching and humiliating gift the Dursleys ever gave Harry, worse than Vernon’s old socks or even the tissue. Because Harry doesn’t have a place to hang his clothes. He doesn’t have a closet to hang them in…he LIVES IN the closet. What a cruel thing to give him, an awful reminder. And he has it hanging there on the wall. Holding on to every gift he gets, no matter how callous it is. I am ruined.

literally every hp fan for YEARS: the movies are SO inaccurate- half the story is missing, i wouldn't understand anything without reading the books, they cut out characters' screentime when they had bigger roles in the book, many characters are missing, ron was totally ruined, ginny was totally ruined, harry was totally ruined, hermione stole half of ron's lines, snape is not the way he is in the books at all, what's going on??!! it's impossible to fit the harry potter saga into just 8 movies!! they should make a tv show with all the details!!
half the fandom when a tv show adaption (ie. exactly what they asked for) is going to be released: OMG??? this is INSANE??? we don't need another adaptation???? we already have the originals, no one can replace the original cast!!! they're the best!! the original is the best!! jowling kowling rowling is only doing this to get back at the golden trio actors!! we DON'T need this!! the movies are perfect omg you never really loved the movies then if you're excited for this!! you're a fake fan!!!!!!!
lmfao okay you do you buckaroo

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone | HBO Official Teaser Trailer
"Harry picked it up and stared at it, his heart twanging like a giant elastic band. No one, ever, in his whole life, had written to him. Who would? He had no friends, no other relatives — he didn’t belong to the library, so he’d never even got rude notes asking for books back. Yet here it was, a letter, addressed so plainly there could be no mistake:"
