Question. In the Harry Potter universe, if you were to be a half inch away from death, and just so happened to stumble across unicorn blood (no unicorn in sight, but in a puddle on the ground or on a tree) and you drank it to save yourself, would you still be cursed? You didn’t slay the animal, or hurt it. You didn’t even touch the animal, just the blood that you happened to stumble across. I know this is extremely unlikely, since nobody in their right mind would kill a unicorn, but what if? Could you be saved by unicorn blood without having to suffer the consequences, or is the lone act of using the unicorn blood to save yourself seen as just as bad? Or is there no distinction between how or why, and is that just the effect of the unicorn blood, with the assumption that anyone who drinks it must’ve hurt the animal?
