Free energy points pt. 1
Okay, maybe it's common sense, maybe everyone is already doing this, but anyways, in case someone would find this helpful- here's a little guide that is useful mostly during events that require doing a lots of classes and thus you need lots of energy.
Passing certain milestones (leveling up in different things) in Hogwarts mystery grants you energy points. Considering how easy is it to run out of energy in this game, it's always nice to get some for free. And it's especially nice when you're trying to complete side quests (that usually give you very little time to complete them) or events like house pride (where you need to finish a LOT of classes to get the rewards). That's why I always save these extra energy points for such things instead of using them for progressing in the main story.
As I still want to do the main story between events and side quests, saving energy doesn't work for me - I'd either have to spend it or just choose not to progress in the story (also, for some reason once I hit the energy limit I just can't stack the energy - it just doesn't add up).
So this is what I do- get as many exp points as possible without reaching the next level. Then I stop and wait for an event or a side quest where I'll need a lot of energy points. When I need some extra energy, it then only takes one hangout with a friend to get some, so I usually can get energy from three friends at once - by playing gobstones, drinking butterbeer and having a meal in the great hall.
The higher the level, the more energy - it starts at 5 energy points for level up, then goes to 10, then 15.
It's important to do the math so you don't accidentally earn more exp points than needed and level up sooner than you need to. You'll find out easily by just completing the hang out and seeing how many points you earned for it.
In different years you earn different amount of exp points. I'm currently in year 5, so the numbers should be accurate for year 5, not so sure about the other ones though so better check it out yourself (feel free to message me if the numbers are wrong and you know the right ones for other years!)
Year 5
Gobstones, Butterbeer - 105 points
Meal - 54 points
Year 4
Gobstones, Butterbeer - 50? points
Meal - 26? points
Year 3
Gobstones, Butterbeer - 25? points
Meal - 12? points
As you can see, it also works for creature level up. The difference here is that you can see how many points you will earn so no need to remember all the stuff like you need to when it comes to hangouts.
Hope this helps a bit!
