Of HR mistakes done twice over
So, a while back, my vacation time hours were messed up on our timeclock system at work. It said I had 0 hours, instead of the 40 I was supposed to have for the year.
I emailed my supervisor, who promptly informed HR. Except, when HR fixed the problem, I somehow ended up with 80 hours instead of 40.
I didn't say anything at the time, because I was pissed at something else they had done, so I figured I deserved the extra hours. But I didn't use them either, for fear that they would see their mistake and correct it.
The other week, another payroll issue happened, and everyone's vacation was reset to 0. Again, I contacted my supervisor, saying something along the line of "I've only used 32 hours of my vacation, so it should have 8 hours on there, but it's back to 0."
When they fixed the mistake, that extra 40 hours was still tacked on, giving me 48 remaining vacation hours for the year.
They've made the mistake two times in a row, despite the fact that I was very clear about my hours in the previous email. At this point, it's on them.
I will definitely be using those extra hours this year.
