he’s definitely gotten enough shots of silver and gold, of the masks they handed out and the wax dripping down the candlesticks. the video that junho makes out of tonight is going to put the instagram aesthetic freebooters to shame for sure, thanks to the decor of the plaza. what he’s lacking, though, is action. it’s a damn good thing that his good friend has a date though, so he can exploit their happiness for a few views.

“joon,” he’s nudging his friend with an elbow, his face already betraying that he has a request that might not go over so well. “where’s your date? shouldn’t you be dancing with her right now or something?” 

a grin and a little raise of his camera is his way of asking permission to edit them into his next video. seungjoon was probably going to be in there whether he wanted to be or not anyways, but he really should ask the girl if his friend is gonna man up and dance with her. junho tries to be respectful about others’ privacy, even if he’s sold his own for a few bucks already.

→   crescent eyes smile at the man at his side, amused by his words and by the cluster of citizens enjoying themselves in their anonymity. he wonders how some would react if they knew they were rubbing elbows with the rich and famous or with those they consider less than themselves. he wonders, too, if the more ‘influential’ members of the community are enjoying their hours of freedom as much as he is. it’s not often he can spend a whole night acting a fool without the fear of backlash. with his relief, he adjusts his mask, an extravagant porcelain adorned with gold detailing, delicately framing his features and shielding the musician from curious eyes. he wears a matching white ensemble, specifically chosen by himself to oppose his usual attire of all black everything. when he hits the stage later in the night, he’ll be wearing his usual dark getup but, for now, he wants to mingle freely, without worry, and the man beside him has been welcomed company. 

they’ve spent most of their time passing jokes about the cheesiness of the masquerade, blaqk throwing in elaborate stories of just what sort of ridiculous trouble some of these strangers would get in to if they knew who it really was behind the mask. but, as much fun as it is to tease the city for their event, they’ve both agreed the masks were a welcomed idea. it was best for the night, and perhaps best for the chance of pure romance, if no one could judge a book by its cover.  

“i almost hope no one reveals who they were after this. it’s almost whimsical. if two of the same people happen to cross paths again, then maybe they can decide it to be fate.” he laughs then, amused by his own thoughts all over again. “cheesy and romantic. i kind of like it.”

; All Night

          ╰☆╮ DABIN'S GLAD IT'S a masquerade and not a regular dance. Still, he's better at solo dances than ballroom so this isn't ideal anyways, but at least he has a mask on. That's the most important bit because if he didn't he's positive that this night wouldn't end up as fun as he could hope. He already has to perform later and that was exciting. But until he was on stage with his favorite thing in the world, Dabin didn't want attention. He wanted to be himself and not Rubato's Dabin.

❝ There's a lot of people, ❞ Dabin remarks to Chaeyoung as he looks around. Expected since it's a city wide event, but he's amazed that the area can fit everyone in. Well, he guesses it's also because there's not a lot of children running around like there tends to be when he's here.

❝ This reminds me. I got something for you, ❞ he reaches into his suit pocket to pull out a red rose corsage. The website had told him that boys bought it for the girl and it had said for prom or for wedding. But he figures this is a formal enough occasion to call for one. Or he could have gotten a rose, but holding onto a rose all night sounded terrible. ❝ Wear it. ❞ 

Dabin had taken a gamble so the fact it matched her dress made him proud of his accomplishment. ❝ Looks nice. ❞ With that he's on his way around with her again, making his aim to reach the buffet table. A few more steps and he can indulge himself in some hors d'oeuvres. But that's exactly when he hears a voice interrupting the two to ask if he's Rubato's Dabin, causing him to freeze in his steps.

... yet she couldn’t help the hope that still fluttered within her heart.

YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED...

The plaza has transformed for the night. Gone is the usual stalls where people haggle for a deal. Gone is the  crowd of people waiting for their partners to head home for the evening. In place are tables and chairs, elegantly set up with candles, white napkins and silver cutlery. An event for partners but also those for friends. 

Welcome to the Valentine’s Day masquerade! A chance to relax amidst the chaos that will soon come as school begins once again in March. Dress code? Semi-formal or formal, the choice is yours in the end but don’t come in sweaters and jeans. Masks will be provided by the hosts, one by one. Sit wherever you want, though we do advise you be careful of sitting with the cliques. Never know what will happen then especially since the air is always tense in their corner each year. TUNITE and NightBlue have allowed their artists to perform a few songs during the late evening so please don’t go home until then!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the official event for Valentine’s Day. We hope everyone enjoyed sending out letters and serenade requests up until now. While IC, the event will only occur on February 14th, OOC wise threads can be written from today until February 28th 11:59pm EST.
