“again?” mj sighed. “that’s the second time this month. you would think with the consistently terrible weather in this city during the winter, they would just get a better transportation system. maybe try something underground and away from the snow.” outside, the wind was howling loudly, powerful gusts causing the windows to shake. the clock on the far well read a quarter past six. the storm was most likely going to worsen. minjung put away the markers she’d been using to make a sign to display in the shop and grabbed her belongings from their hiding spot underneath the front counter. 

the girl was the only customer in the store right now, probably having lost track of time in the stacks while the storm built up until the noise outside became inadmissible. “well, since you’re the only customer left and the storm is showing no signs of stopping, i’m going to close up early. would you like a ride home? my car’s outside and i drive decently in the snow. usually.”

“You’re too attached.”

“I can’t decide it if you mean it as a bad or good thing,” he tilts his head, looking at the waitress while mindlessly cleaning the few glasses starting to already pile up in the sink. “I can’t help on being attached to our regulars you know? Sometimes they tell me stories while I’m fixing up their drinks or while they are drinking. It makes me know many of them on a more personal level.” He places a glass on it’s rightful place before turning back to Aera. “But I’m guessing it’s all different as a waitress? You don’t have many people just randomly start talking to you, do you? I guess as a bartender I also signed up to be some kind of emotional trashbin… I can’t say I mind it though.““Do you want something to drink by the way? Just right before the busy hours? I’m trying out new non-alcoholic cocktail recipes I found on pinterest and I need someone to taste them for me before I suggest them being added on the menu.“

WINTER SENTENCE STARTERS

“They did? Must have been a real snow storm for them to close off public transportation.” Frankly she’s not too surprised, but it still shocks her since she spent her time growing up in areas that less snow during the winter season. “I’m guessing we’ll need to find other ways to get around the city, or we stay inside.”

“It’s hard to connect with someone when all they do is push you away.”

Seth had been browsing through the racks of clothes, trying to find something interesting for Aera to wear. She was also looking on her own, but he liked to suggest clothes, so he was not about to just stand there and do nothing while she shopped. There had been a comfortable silence between them, the music of the store giving a nice vibe as it wasn’t too loud. He’d sometimes hum under his breath as he looked at an article of clothing, before shaking his head and putting it back on the rack. And then the silence was broken, and he looked up at Aera who was standing on the other side of the rack. He popped, the bubble he had just made with his gum.

Well, he had certainly not expected this. “Why would you want to connect with someone who keeps pushing you away in the first place?” he asked her as he returned to his browsing and grabbed a skirt, which he pulled away and held in front of his eyes, inspecting it and glancing at Aera to see if he could see her wearing that. He could. So, he handed the skirt over to her, so she could inspect it and decide if she wanted to try it on.

“I mean, if someone pushes you away, they clearly don’t want you to connect with them. So why waste your time? Unless…they really need help, but they pretend to be fine and you want to let them know it’s okay to talk to you? Is that it?”

— NABI'S outfit is nothing short of the definition of warm. beanie, think cashmere sweater, with a thick coat over her jacket, skinny jeans, boots, and yeah you get the idea. even with the layers, the dark haired female stills a bit of a chill. so when she's asked to lend her over her jacket, nabi is quick to shrug off the coat and passes it over.

her answer is short, simple, her voice sounds more blunt than anything else. she doesn't even give a meek smile, just nothing. plus the other female wouldn't be able to see the said smile with her face mask on. it is much better to wear something thick than to wear a thin ass jacket...but that's just her philosophy.

→   “oh that’s just, that’s fantastic. that’s so wonderful.”  sarcasm drips from every syllable. in her current state, misook is doing a poor job of maintaining her composure. she’s one small incident away from having a complete meltdown on the side of a mountain. she hates having ever requested the day to herself. she should have at least kept her driver or, better yet, had simply made certain her phone was fully charged before she left her home. she was never going to play pretend as a dirty, wilderness hippie again.  “please, may i borrow your phone? i would rather not be stuck in this place for much longer.”

For the most part, she’ll feel flattered. Especially if the gesture is expected, though if it’s not, it has the potential to catch her off-guard and make her react in a less positive way. But for the most part, romantic gestures and flirting is something she finds fun, unless there’s expectations of commitment behind it.
