i admittedly do not know anything about fashion in the slightest but i feel like adrestian fashion is maybe more  “dated”  than others ?  since the empire is very ancient / tradition heavy so it’s much more flowy / dramatic than refined or practical.  i mean hubert’s really out there dressing like a vampire and nobody seems to care so

and honestly it kind of looks like that in the ending tapestries ?

adrestian nobles on the left and alliance nobles on right ----- compared to adrestia,  alliance seems more 1800s-esque with the high collars and the ... very tight pants.  and i figure faerghus fashion has to be a little more practical,  even for nobility,  simply given the climate of the kingdom. 

adrestia also seems a little more obsessed with frills / jabots and capes  ( just looking at their post-skip designs ... eddy ferdie and hubie all got capes on smh ... ),  with eddy and monica also wearing those fancy jabots pre-skip.  OMG NOW THAT I’M REALLY LOOKING AT IT ---- black eagles kids have the most jabots ?!  eddy,  ferdie,  caspar,  and petra all have them on their uniforms,  compared to just ignatz and hilda in GD and felix and mercie in BL  ( mercie was an adrestian noble so she counts for team adrestia too i don’t make the rules ).  jabots were popular in 17th/18th century so that would fit with adrestia being slightly behind the trends and perhaps a little more dramatic / gothic 

also 17th century stuff has those tights ??  legging ???  thingies that it looks like edelgard is maybe wearing preskip idk what anything is called:

anyway i know nothing about fashion or art history so i do not have anything intelligent to say on the matter but also if i’m being completely transparent i really just want ferdinand to wear a dumb hat like this:

GUILT as such is a rare emotion for Rhea to feel. Grief, betrayal, sadness, and deep, deep rage, are more in her range, but guilt? Not quite. She is a firm believer of ‘ the end justifies the means ‘ and a character driven by her emotions. Her goal is to reincarnate Sothis, by any means necessary, and she is more than willing to take extreme risks and do sacrifices to reach those goals. And Rhea herself is the judge for if those risks / sacrifices are necessary to take or not. She can thus not feel guilt or remorse for e.g. the experiments she conducted on created bodies, for they were a necessary steppingstone. She can take great risks and even kill, if she has a reason behind it, without remorseful consequences.

She would also not feel guilt over her deeds, whether it is prior, during, or after her time as archbishop; Executing ‘ non believers ‘ or people who somehow went against the church’s values was also something which was necessary, in this case, to maintain PEACE ( out of RHEA’S perspective. ) One could call her desperate, or that she was acting out of fear, pulling great lengths to maintain the ‘ utopia ‘ she built for her mother, a manufactured paradise, if you will. She keeps the continent in a choke-grip, monitoring everyone’s single move, because it is simply what she has to do. Her reasons are rather selfish, and one could say she is blinded by these reasons, and does thus not comprehend that what she’s doing is questionable. 

The ONE AND ONLY TIME Rhea will feel genuine guilt ( in the way I write her, I know she has guilt in some canon routes, but that did not make sense, because to me it felt very rushed ) is in an AU of Verdant Wind I discussed / plotted with @progenitorgod. In this AU, Sothis’ mind does become reincarnated in a child’s body, and thus she questions Rhea, asking why she thought Sothis would have wanted all of this. Rhea is faced with the result of her consequences, and is struggling with the fact that everything she did for over a century has basically been for naught. ( E.g. constructing a church, becoming its immortal leader, conducting human experiments, and so on. ) This because the one person she did it for, did not want any of that to be done.

This gut-wrenching sentiment of GUILT coloring even yet another INSULT ever so lackluster; devoid of sternness, of a determination once held. How could she describe this sentiment of loathe? Not for him, nay, but for the very being that sat on his left, gloved hand coiled around some chipped mug. Glare devoid of bravado, grip stripped off vigor / jaw sets; she ought to continue, ought to add SOMETHING. -- she can't.

   He and Edelgard have never been the best of friends, hell not even the word close can be used with the two of them, but even then that didn’t stop Claude from seeing her as a friend, a comrade in arms if you will. Through all of the chaos and the war, a decent handful of times he tried to find a middle ground with her, he reached his hand out to her in means to understand—hopeful the fool that he could maybe even get her to stop, but alas reality wasn’t so kind and many who didn’t have anything due paid with their lives. He thinks on it, he thinks on it a lot more than many give him credit for, because he too was there—saw it, experienced it, felt it, dealt with it... suffered through it. But when word reached his homeland and thus him as its rising leader about what became of Edelgard and how she didn’t have to suffer the death sentence... Claude felt relief, but it wasn’t happiness. How could he be? When there’s bones and corpses of the fallen at their feet? “Hurts that you think I’m not taking any of this seriously.” Claude shrugs and shakes his head. Sure he’s accounted for a situation where this could have been a possibility, where she’d set foot on Almyra, but the possibility of it being a fact was slim in his perception. “Just saying a rundown little cottage with rats and spiders lying around like this isn’t fit for a princess, I meant that.” Actually he doesn’t wish this sort of fate on anybody. He was pretty good at striking a nerve or two with her wasn’t he? That sure hasn’t changed too much. He has many questions, a lot of things he wants to know, things he needs to hear from her, but as insensitive as he comes across he knows there’ll be a time and a moment (eventually) for that. That time isn’t now.  

   “I’m not reaching out to you out of pity... or cause all’s forgiven and washed away,” he adds for good measure. “I’m not going to do anything to you, for once just trust me will you? I’ll sleep better at night knowing you’re sleeping on a softly pressed bed instead of...” taking another look at this worn out place he takes a mental picture of it to send out resources to nearby villages later “... this place.” There’s much to do for him and now with this to add on top of it, oh boy.

   “So, come on.” Not letting the hollowness of her reactions towards him affect him, Claude holds his hand out to her. “Accept my hand this time, yeah?” Besides, it’s raining out and his wyvern is probably miserable just waiting out there on him.

She’s not accustomed to this. Although she usually adorns her sapphire locks with RADIANT CROWNS of blossoms and gold, one for each season, she has never donned such large and exquisite and painfully heavy clothes  ;  the traditional garments of her tribe are usually fabricated with silk and velvet and incredibly buoyant fabrics, thus allowing the BEAST FOLKS to freely move even during the most formal events, especially considering that each and every one of them might be unfortunately presented with the sudden necessity to abandon humane features in pursuance of transforming into something bigger, into VULPINE BEASTS with multiple tails and razor-sharp fangs. 

How is she supposed to move throughout the entire evening, considering how intricate and hefty her dress is  ?  Of course, Ahri is not disdaining its beauty   ───   The crimson and golden colors of the exquisite fabric had easily piqued her attention and the jewels that she was generously offered only served to further embellish a BESTIAL QUEEN that desired nothing more than to conquer and steal the hearts of anyone whose gaze settled ‘pon her. 

   ❝  HOW do you even wear these clothes on a daily basis  ?  Yes, they’re beautiful and I’m certain that many women would kill to wear one of these, but... I feel restricted.  ❞   More complaints would have waltzed ‘pon the tip of her tongue if only the EMPRESS had not personally come forward to gently take care of her dress, straightening the various creases and fixing all the folds that Ahri had unconsciously created with her goofy movements. Just how many things does Edelgard has to deal with, on a daily basis  ?  Genteel is the simper that deftly conquers the expanse of her glossed tiers.   ❝  Alright, I’ve complained enough for today. I owe you a favor for helping me with the dress, so... Will you dance with me  ?  ❞
