New crack theory: What if instead of the codes turning into eggs he eggs were always codes... Hear me out the eggs were made to contain the codes because they follow seemingly similar objective as the federation (the whole Cellbit Sword, trying to kill the candidates). What if the feds found a way to contain the codes as eggs and to keep an eye on them they were given to the players to be taken care of by them! This would explain how the code so easily turned into the eggs, the Phil being able to name the code during the first encounter (assuming this wasn't admin error) why Flippa was typing with numbers and symbols.

What are your thoughts on how one would saddle/ride a dragon on par with the HotD dragons, but with a proper wing membrane ?

Well my personal logical answer would be to give the dragons some practical use wing gauges so the saddle could be slung there without the need to account for the base membrane

however this has two problems:

The HOTD/GOT dragons are EXTREMELY aggressive and I highly doubt they would allow the procedure to be made anyways

Most of the dragons themselves are so huge that slinging the saddle around the wing arms would most likely make it move in a jarring way for the rider if it was just straps

The saddles need to be custom fit and custom made for each dragon, so another solution could be to take into account the different anatomy of each dragon (things like extra sturdy/spiky scales, or frills) and make something dependant on that

I'm gonna be honest though, I haven't seen HOTD so like. I dont know how the saddles look lmao ive just seen the dragons in gifs and images and absorbed their names through there (i can name all the dragons but not name a single targaryen </3)

okay so i looked into it briefly to answer this and it looks like some of the dragons have implants on them that allow for the hooking of saddles? Maybe the wing gauges wouldnt be such a far shot. If dragonskin is thick enough then they could just commit to the implants for support points, and they'd just have to readjust them every couple of sheds

If you wanna get more technical about it, the saddle should allow for ample movement of the wings, so ideally it shouldnt go around them. Similarly to how a horse saddle strap is located right behind their front legs, and right before their ribcage starts so that it can be tightened without compressing their chest.

Conversely, the dragons in HOTD do not have that anatomy, as their front legs (wings) have the membrane behind them and are right in the way of the ribcage since the keel is very prominent and all its musculature for generating lift is anchored there (thats why all the HOTD dragons' chests are so thick. It's the keel + attached muscles. Kudos to the designers for that (thats why i dont understand how the base membrane thing happened))

To not compress their chest with a saddle, and not hinder the wings movement with any straps, the saddle would ideally have to be in the spot where the neck meets the chest. This can be tricky on shorter necked dragons though and dragons with frills though unfortunately.

A compromise would be to set the saddle and tie it around the neck, and have two straps up top + two on the bottom that go around the wings and tie into one last strap that wraps around the base of the tail, wherever the wing membrane stops, but this would be extremely tricky to do for big dragons since the rope could flail around the longer it is, and some dragons' wing membrane sometimes goes into the tail (it's the case for a lot of my ocs anyways)

There are many compromises to be made, a lot of it depends on the dragons morphology and they are all fairly varied. Like i said I havent seen HOTD so i cant really judge whether their saddles are good or not but like. From the looks of it they look fine
