I am graduating from High School. And this weekend, I have no homework. All of my finals are done, all of my extra credit and makeup work turned in. And I am graduating from high school. I never cared much for the flare or pomp of a graduation until it became a reality and now I am so glad that I am capable. My teachers gave me a lot of extra or makeup work in the last few weeks and told me I needed to finish it all to graduate. A vague prompted comparitive essay that took me almost 12 hours and deserved an A wasn't read and given a B. Up until 2 weeks ago i figured i would just take English 1A and California History over the summer and graduate in the fall, but a 5 paragraph essay for Cannery Row with a paragraph on the Great Depression which also wasn't read but changed my grades from 4 years ago in 2 crucial classes from F's to D's. Almost an entire semesters worth of book work in Gov and two one paragraph essays changed a 30% to a C+. Two one paragraph essays and 2 chapters of book work changed my Econ grade, the only thing holding me back in the end to a D. As a result of depression and getting to school late, I failed the entirety of Freshman year. Then half of Sophomore year, and a slight amount of Junior. Let it be said, that even if you think there is no way in hell, you can. I have ADHD, I couldn't sit still to do almost any of this work but I paced and spoke into my phone to type it all for me to save time. My support group was basically everyone telling me to stop fucking up and thinking I couldn't and just do the work, as opposed to helping me organize it into something I could actually finish in a timely manner. Tl;dr I am graduating. And I can't believe it. It was hard, and I struggled but I made it. I'm done with this hell hole
