what’s the tea?
@ywhyunseo
usually those familiar faces namwoon sees buying from the farmer’s market are the ones who would also buy goods from the very people running the stalls. it’s nice to think about on occasion, knowing that everyone is supporting each other, appreciating the old craft and the hard work that comes from their own labor. their love and care for those items show not only in their display, but also in their taste. this month, his inspiration comes from the subtler kind of ingredients; instead of cutting something up into small pieces and throwing it in his dough, he took to the idea of /infusing/ his liquids where he could.
namwoon was looking forward to seeing the young woman who occasionally sits behind the tea leaves, hyunseo, if he remembers correctly. names had never been a strong point for him, better remembering them by their actions anyway. she had been one of those who took a liking to his dog crouton when she passed by, and if crouton accepted her, namwoon feels like he should do the same.
the smile he sends her way looks expectant at best, and namwoon immediately stands up to keep her attention. “i’d like you to try something.” he picks up one of the sliced cake loaves to hand to her; a tan color, with little specks of black. “i made it with the black tea i bought from you last week. thought it might be nice with some extra spices in there too, so this is mostly an experiment.”
