jasper flashed his brother a WIDE toothy grin , eyes darting across the cafeteria table as a piece of carrot came flying towards his face . jasper flicked it away with ease , sensing edward’s annoyance but all it was gentle ribbing , nothing too serious . it seemed that edward only thought that emmett was able to CRACK jokes about things . in truth , making jokes made everything seem less shit . edward needed to see the lighter side of things .
