要約
HSPINのクリスはHSPINをアウトソーシングして自分の仕事ではなくブランドとして残そうとしたけれども結果、HSPINのソウルは抜けて他ブランドと似たような機種を作る形になっていってしまった。またヨーヨー界から暫くの間消えてしまったような活動になっていた。
結果たくさんの負債ができ、会社の存続ができなくなった。
HSPIN最後のプロトタイプやスプラッシュカラーのセールを行う。
映像中にはどのようにヨーヨーの会社を運営するかのプロセスややり方なども説明していて、資料的な価値としても重要な映像になっています。
僕が好きだったヨーヨーブランドで唯一コンプリートコレクションを目指していたブランドが終わってしまうのは悲しく思います。ただいま思えば途中からブランドがつまらなくなったと思ったのもクリスが離れた時期でした。
またとても大切な要素はヨーヨーコミュニティーから離れてしまったのも失敗の原因だと言っていることです。ヨーヨービジネスの難しいところは常にマーケットと一体でなくてはならなくて、ヨーヨー界の出来事やトリックから興味を失って会社を経営しようというスタンスになった瞬間に小さなブランドは陳腐化してそれらしいものに置き換わり、力を失ってしまうと思います。これはショップ経営にも言えることだし、ヨーヨーデザインは特にそうです。
Apple創業者のJobsの影響が大きかったのと同様にヨーヨーブランドは創業者のマインドがブランドの方向に影響を与えるのだなぁと思いました。創業者の魂が抜けた時点でそれは別のものになってしまうという。
ヨーヨー界が始まって１０数年が経て、色々な始まりだけではなく、ブランドの終わりを見ることにもなりました。
そういう意味ではきちんと初めて終わらせたクリスはさすがだと思います。
アルミヨーヨーが競技用モデルの基本になる流れやいまのHプロファイルの先駆けをしたり、ハイブランドとしての位置づけをして、常に先端を行くデザインを発表し続けたHSPINに感謝と尊敬を込めてこの映像を紹介します。
