Small thing I'll say about the animated show is that the music of the original run is (to me) partly the whole of what makes homestuck, homestuck. I feel that whole sense of it was lost in the pilot. The music was good as just A Show. I thought the showtime arrangement was quite good. But I guess part of me really wanted more motifs to appear? I get that might've been a bit of a clusterfuck crammed into 10 minutes but I think it could've been a but possible? I mean you gotta remember, ultimately this is gonna be The Homestuck Show. It should feel reminiscent of homestuck in regards to the music. The music was something really everyone remembers from it. I feel like lacking the weight of the music would really just be such a loss of its feel. I know it was said it'll be some new original music some iconic melodies, but I wish the old stuff was better integrated in with the new stuff, rather than just having showtime play where the showtime flash happened. Sburban jungle motif when they mention the game? Homestuck motif mixed into the background? Harlequin motif when egbert opens the present! Character themes from the comic when they're onscreen! And have specific themes rather than tunes that are just vaguely reminiscent of them. It'll make them so much more memorable, for the characters as people, the songs themselves, and the essence of how the characters FEEL. The feeling when you listen to doctor, or sunsetter, or aggrieve. I want new watchers to experience that feeling hearing leitmotifs reappear throughout the show for characters
