     First days are always stressful and busy. Especially when you’re mid-year transfer kid who was home-tutored and ranked between second and third year, which means your schedule just happens to be a bit on the irregular side. Standing in front of the class as the teacher writes the three kana of her name, then the three kanji of her second name, and the final two of her surname, is more terrifying than she remembers, but Alice soldiers on. She settles down on her assigned seat, starts to play catch up and doesn’t stop until long after school hours are over.

After a meeting with the teacher and a trip to the library, she is finally free to go home. Pulling her phone out to send a quick update to Yohji-san, she notices the time. She hadn’t realized it was so late. Club activities must have just ended, so Alice decides she might as well make one more stop and heads towards the volleyball club.

She arrives just in time to see three tall boys walking out of the clubhouse. Assuming them to be third years, she holds her books a little closer to her chest and offers them a greeting bow. They give her a knowing look that she doesn’t quite get and the one who seems most approachable smiles. “He will be right out.” He reassures her and continues on his way with the other two.

“Thank you..?” Alice replies quietly, still a little confused. But, a few moments later, he does step out. “Oikawa-san.” She smiles and greets him politely as well.
