“Well, sometimes you need to be direct to get things done.”
“I didn’t know you could ride wyverns, Lady Kiran!” Truth be told, Eirika had heard... rumours... about this particular summoner. Still, she hadn’t actually been on the receiving end of any ill intentions, so she would give her the benefit of the doubt.
“But if you’re serious, you’ll represent Grado in the tournament and that means I’ll personally cover all your costs- travel, signup fees, a room to stay in during the event, meals... all of them, within reason, of course. However, it also means that anything you do will reflect upon Grado- and upon me. So please- have fun, but don’t destroy what I’m trying to build up.”
@sireneia
“Hoy there, Leif of Leonster.” He’s sitting on the ground, drink in hand, watching the proceedings. Not disguised this time. “I saw your name on the list. Signing up for something more peaceful this time around, are we?”
Swift and skilled his ass. He had so hoped to prove himself... only to be demolished two to four. HALF the score of his opponent. He almost threw the issued sword back towards the servants who had given it to him, shaking in ill-contained frustration and rage towards his own incompetence.
He didn’t make it far from the arena before his legs decided he could walk no further and he sat himself down on a nearby bench -his natural habitat, clearly- to bury his face in his hands. No tears, only shaking. He was a disgrace to Askr and to the Order.

“Honest? I would have assumed that Princess Lucina of Ylisse, semi-finalist in the Ranged bracket, Scourge of the Fell Dragon, and a Legendary Hero, would encounter no difficulties securing a date for the masquerade.” It was probably for the best that she wouldn’t expose the other attendants to what she considered a ‘proper’ dress, though. As much as he respected her, Laurent could not defend her taste in fashion.
“I would be honoured, my lady. If you would be so inclined, we could procure dinner at one of the stalls in the marketplace or one of the restaurants in the city proper. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it intact before- it is marvelous.”
@bloodthirstymoonstone, @deliciously-foul
“Yes! That was an amazing performance, you two!” Eirika is still applauding when she approaches her champions. “You had me a little worried when you held her back at the start, but I should clearly leave the flying to the fliers.” She reached out to pet Chetak on the nose, and then put a hand on Kiran’s shoulder. “Well done! Now, hurry and check in for the semi-finals and I’ll see about food- if you two want, of course!”

“Hmm,” she mumbled noncommittally as she sat down and took off one of her shoes to check if she actually had blisters. “I think I will. And thank you!” she beamed at the compliment. “It’s so slimly fitting, I had my doubts at first, but it seems to be fine... and I love the veil. My skin does so detest masks.”
Wringing her other foot out of its shoe as well -just for a minute, she promised herself- she gave her full attention to Rinea. “You look good, yourself. And you look like you’re enjoying yourself! How many men have you danced with tonight, you heartbreaker?”

Eirika sympathised. As queen of Grado, she had her share of dresses to pick from, too.
“Heh. My respects. I gave my tailors a concept to work with but no detailed instructions, so I’ll probably have two or three ensembles to pick from too...”
