PSA on URL hoarding

As a warning to those who haven’t realised this because I’m noticing it during the rebuild of my blogs.

Do not hoard URLs. It does not work. Tumblr does not relinquish URLs, not even after the 24 hour period it promises.

I’ve been forced to adopt new URLs for all three of my blogs because both the URLs I used to use and the one that was hoarded and given up by someone else did not work.

Tumblr support will not help you. I sent in a ticket about this and got the following response:

My ticket: [I’m trying to remake some of my RPing blogs under a different email address. To this end, I have changed the URLs of the old blogs to Unwaveriinghearts-a, thelodestar-a, and anamnesisqueen-a (adding -a for ‘archive’) to the end] well over a week ago. Yet, the editor still lists the old URLs (identical to the current ones but without the -a suffix) as taken. When I manually travel to these URLs, the page comes up as not existing. What gives? I would rather not have to come up with and establish new URLs as the blog content will remain unchanged.]

Support’s response: [Thanks for reaching out to us and asking us about these URLs! I'm truly sorry you're having trouble setting them up, but let's see what's going on. Unfortunately, for the moment, we can’t manually release taken or terminated URLs. If you get a "There's nothing here" message when you try to visit a blog, it's not necessarily available—it may have been hidden or terminated. Some long-unused URLs may eventually be released as part of our policy on account dormancy (see https://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/community), which only applies to accounts that have not been logged into (not the same as "posted to") for over one year. There is no way to tell from looking at a blog whether the account has been logged into recently, but if you've got your eye on a taken URL you're welcome to wait patiently and try signing up with that URL every once in a while.

The most offensive thing is probably that they said they’d look into it and then launched into the generic spiel that’s on the support page. They’re not interested in looking into what’s been fucked up in their infrastructure or even to see if the URL has been claimed by someone who hid the blog after that.

My point being,

By hoarding URLs, there is every chance you’re actually screwing not only yourself but also others out of EVER using them if you’re no longer interested in them.

This has been a PSA.

It’s still here for you to send this in, isn’t it? No, I didn’t. After my extended impromptu hiatus I just feel a little antsy returning here, and I’m not happy with the amount of clutter on my RPing blogs as well as the fact they’re stuck under a personal I’m not sure what to do with.

Marth’s new blog is already up, I’m working on the multi, and I have a new URL hoarded for Eirika. I’m incredibly miffed that tumblr is being as helpful as it is functional in letting me transfer over my old URLs, but c’est la vie. I’ll post on the multi and Eirika’s blog respectively when the new ones are ready to go.

These three blogs will stay as archives, and if the other parties are okay with that I will transfer over my current relationships too. All threads, barring one exception for Eirika (the exception knows who they are), will be dropped, but I may screenshot some asks to answer on the new blogs.

To say Sophia had spent both centuries of her life... alone... would be an overstatement. Even if her father was long gone, she had friends. Igrene, Hawkeye, and their predecessors were wonderful people and consulted her visions if they were relevant for their duties, Fae was like a little sister...

And yet, she’d always felt that something was... missing. Or someone.

She had seen dragons and humans alike find each other, the gaze they exchanged upon brushing hands or bumping into each other and realising. The fulfilling lives they begun together after that moment. But she hadn’t... had that moment, herself. She had tried, but she couldn’t well go around awkwardly holding hands with everyone in Arcadia.

And her soulmate might not even BE Arcadian. Or even exist yet- her lifespan was much longer than that of the average human, after all. So Sophia had... tried to put it aside. She focused on her tasks around the village and her power, trying not to worry about technically not being complete.

For today, those tasks included guiding the Lycian Alliance Army into Arcadia, helping them navigate the sandstorm and leading them to shelter. “Worry not... about the weapon,” she promised the army general. “It is... well warded. You must rest...”

The general was... akin to her. He looked younger than he was... not by much, she thought, but it was hard to guess from looks alone. What she could tell from looking at him was that he too bore dragon blood. It was dormant in him, though. He fought as a human and spoke as one... still, she would lie if she said he wasn’t intriguing.

“This way, Lord Roy,” she continued, carelessly reaching towards him with one hand. “We do not see... many travellers, but a few of us have room in our houses that your men could use...”

When her fingers brushed across his, something snapped inside her. She whipped her head back up to look at his face, wondering if he felt the same thing she did. She... she couldn’t put it into words.

“Y-you..?” she murmured, so quietly that she wasn’t sure he could possibly have heard her. “Are you... the one..?”

Ship Biases

General notes:

I’m open to shipping with duplicates.

I don’t go down an exhaustive list of characters in FE when I make this. This is a list of ships that pops into my mind right away. Don’t be discouraged if your muse isn’t on it, chances are I’m still open to discussing something.

That said, OCs will ALWAYS have to be discussed.

Second-gen characters will never ship with first-gen characters and vice versa.

This only lists romantic ships! I’m absolutely not picky platonically.

If a muse is not listed here, I have no particular biases for that muse.

Sexual orientation of all muses can be confirmed on the Muse List. Please adhere to that.

It ought to be enough... Or so he hoped, he thought as he looked at the enormous shadow resembling Lady Eirika behind the enemy spectres.

As amusing at it is to see Alfonse and Odette at each other’s throats about the latter not being allowed on the frontlines (and going anyway, if precedent by her siblings is any indicator), it’s not representative of their relationship. At least, I don’t hope so.

Alfonse loves both his sisters dearly, but he’s a typical protective brother and Odette is... the baby-est of his sisters. Especially after Hel cursed him and Gustav had to sacrifice himself to save him, Alfonse has been borderline paranoid about letting even Sharena take to the battlefield, and he’ll be damned if Hel or anyone else pulls something like that on Odette.

Sadly, he can’t really express this well, so it just manifests in ‘because I said so’ types of arguments. Alfonse, ffs.
