can you tell me about silt verses i am curious

yes omg... sicko smile... the silt verses is an horror/fantasy audio drama set in a fictional world where folk religions are 1. wide-spread 2. corporatized and 3. objectively real. i don't want to get too into the world building bc tbh its set up incredibly well in the show but basically it follows two worshippers of an outlawed river god as they go on a pilgrimage and other stuff happens 👍 generally what sets it apart from other fiction podcasts for me is the audio editing and style of the show... it's crazy bc it is made by the same team who made i am eskew (also phenomenal) which had very minimal foley work/sound effects outside of voices + background rain, but the silt verses is so insanely adept that building scenes through audio it is genuinely masterful. it's apparent from like episode one when u have two characters wading through a river and speaking at a distance from each other but by the final season they r doing like entire fight scenes through pure audio and MONTAGES and it is completely comprehensible and easy to follow. In terms of writing they use the same method as i am in eskew which so many fiction podcasts turn away from (to their detriment in my mind) which is... monologues... they treat it like a playyyy characters monologue to the audience in order to provide exposition/backstory, which allows them to stay relatively private/closed off in dialogue and makes it all feel a lot more naturalistic (+ the monologues can be done with a more poetic hand than realistic dialogue). again it is the excellent audio mixing that allows this to work and makes it clear when characters r speaking to each other vs to the audience but it is masterfully done (whereas in i am in eskew it was 100% monologue, but again this is a method i prefer to most fiction podcasts "dialogue only" style with a kind of hackneyed framing device to explain Why the characters r being Recorded and Why they are describing everything they're seeing. eskew and tsv just goes "it is like a play. there are actions taking place on stage and thoughts in a characters head and they are both preformed to you, the audience" like thank u)

i have a playlist of mostly instrumental music that i listen to, its the same i use for when im studying! its mostly music from undertale/deltarune and zelda lofi mixes :)

11. Do you outline your fics before writing them?

i try to! i won't for drabbles but for my longer fics i have found that outlining is really helpful!! here's a sample of how i outlined my guypeace fic

in the past i have done pretty much everything but i have started to use ellipsus and i really enjoy it!

im less creative than you... ummm um 💭💭💭 there's smth here in terms of robots and disposability . and of course a pull tab opens to reveal a hole. my tuna can boyfriend i open up and then i. fuck the tuna? no... it would be kind of cute if a robot had a pull tab chest that could open for wireplay etc but it isnt very practical considering the fact that it cant be closed again after.

9 ⧽. tell us about a wip/idea that you're excited about!

i really want to write a yellow lantern chris fic! in blue beetle (2006) issue #20, chris is presented with a yellow lantern ring (he also has a blue beetle scarab for some reason?) and i would love to write more of chris being a yellow lantern and exploring that! (also with some guypeace...as a treat)

13 ⧽. do you have any writing projects/goals/plans you're working on/want to work on?

i really really really want to finish my current guypeace fic. it's the longest fic i've written and i already have it planned out. i know it may end up on hiatus because of university starting again soon but i fully plan on finishing it when i can!
