You know, whenever I heard people talk about Movie!Hiccup's story being similar to Hiccup the First's, I always only heard about him finding an injured dragon and nursing it to health. Movie!Hiccup/Hiccup the First nursing Toothless/Wodensfang back to health.

I was not expecting:

The dragons and humans to be at war with one another when they met.

The Green Death to be at the helm of this war.

For an assassin-like dragon to be downed and injured because of Hiccup related reason.

Then found and nursed to health by Hiccup.

For the Wodensfang to teach Hiccup the First his language/ways.

For Hiccup the First to be the first to ride a dragon.

For Hiccup the First to defeat the Green Death with the help of the Wodensfang. (Though not by killing it, but by exiling it.)

Thereby ending a war.

For Hiccup the First to teach his people his ways with dragons and bringing prosperity because of it.

For Hiccup the First to treat and advocate for dragons and humans to be on equal standing.

That's literally beat for beat the first movie.
