I’m not the best when it comes to characters designs but I had fun making this, I hope I made them look like their dragons selfs ( clean art is still my enemy)

I... have no words. Like, they added Hiccups Windwalker to Rise of Berk, what a time to be alive. All I'm gonna say is... does this mean we could get more HTTYD book references in the future? Maybe even some more book species?! If they did, I would happily let them use some of my designs.

My official ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Rider and Dragon

Rider

Name: Sirena

Gender: Female

Age: Early 20’s

Pronouns: She/Her

Tribe: Early indigenous Taíno (from Cuba specifically)

Backstory: Sirena comes from a tribe of indigenous Taíno who specialize and worship in Tidal Class dragons. She lives on a small island with her family where her parents are the leaders of her tribe. Despite her family’s status, she chooses to live her own life. Sirena’s primary job is fishing which she does with the help of her dragon: a Windwalker named Ventoso. When she isn’t fishing, she’s either painting, swimming, or exploring nearby islands and archipelagos. Other tribe members pity her, thinking she might be lonely. But Sirena just likes to be by herself, spending most of her time relaxing by the water with her dragon.

Weapon: A spear wrapped and woven in sargassum with a sea urchin shell at the bottom

Shield: A loggerhead sea turtle shell covered with Ceiba tree thorns on the front and has a wooden handle on the back

Dragon

Name: Ventoso

Species: Windwalker

Gender: Male

Age: Early 20’s

Backstory: Ventoso is Sirena’s dragon, gifted to her as an egg when she was born. As such, he and Sirena grew up together and share a very close bond. He often helps his rider with fishing and collecting food for their tribe. He also assists Sirena with pretty much anything she does, even if she can do those tasks herself. Ventoso very much mirrors Sirena, not wanting to spend much time with other people or dragons. He just wants to spend his days with his rider swimming, exploring, and relaxing by the beach.

Redesigned my beloved Anxious Horse

No wings because I can't be assed to draw Feathered wings right now, but they are shaped like a Falcons :]

Anyway! I kept the same colour palette and markings as I had in my original design since I literally can not imagine them any other way in that regard. Beyond that, I changed the shape of their head a bit, removed their horns, gave them whiskers and bigger, more expressive ears, and made them fuzzy.
