Sequel to my Huaisang selfcest fic. Huaisang-ge keeps falling through time throughout Huaisang-di's life and we get to watch them become the same person. After Huaisang's fans are burned. Before the war against the Wen. After Da-ge's death and the grief-stricken years that follow. Confrontation after confrontation: "sometimes I think you're the only one who will ever understand me. Isn't that sad?" Maybe things go further. Seeking comfort, Huaisang-di initiates something.
(And if he closes his eyes, he can almost imagine his older self as his Da-ge.)
