Calm After
Time: Early morning, 9th of March Place: Kitchens, Tynthesfield Manor Status: Closed, for @estherhudson
The storm had brought devastation upon St Maur; Valentin saw only the flowers.
The Bazaar had left chaos in Tynthesfield Manor; Valentin saw only the shine on all chandeliers.
The kitchen still had nothing but the bare minumum of food; Valentin sunk his spoon into the honey with a wistful sigh.
He cut the bread with a melodic hum, toasted it with a glisten in his eyes, and buttered it with his feet almost stepping in a waltz. There was a lot to do today. He’d already seen some servants rush from St Maur Castle to Tynthesfield to help undo the Bazaar, as he’d heard Alastair’s composed but imposing voice in the halls. He had barely slept and he felt a headache creep around the base of his neck, along with a little scratch in his throat, but he hummed and gnawed on the bread with ease all the same.
When Mrs Hudson entered the kitchen, he gave her a shining smile. “Good morning, Mrs Hudson! Would you like some tea?”
