Jungle lodge
We stayed in a jungle lodge just outside Canelos. We arrived in the town, after a 6 hour bus journey and were met by the friendly Swiss owner of the lodge. He greeted us with wellies, as the next part of our journey to get to the accommodation involved a 20 minute walk through the forest.
We ate tasty local food, relaxed in hammocks and soaked in the sounds of the rainforest (the birds and insects can get very noisy!) I also had the joy of discovering a huge banana spider in my room just before bed, which made me even more thankful for the added protection of the mosquito net...!
