It’s not the first time Maria catches Carol staring at her and based on how their lives have been intermingling so far, it’s definitely not going to be the last. 

In Carol’s defense, she tries not to stare. She really does, but it’s hard not to when Maria looks so good in yellow and that’s the only color she wears outside of her uniform. It’s hard not to when Maria is the poster woman for domesticity as she sweeps and tends to her beautiful daughter. And yeah, call Carol simple, but she has a thing for that little waist apron Maria wears that does nothing but protect the zipper of Maria’s jeans.

Maria becomes accustomed to brown eyes tracing her movements. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t like the attention. It’s the principle of the thing really. Was she not supposed to enjoy Carol’s admiration? That seems like a lot to ask of Maria. 

She tries not to enjoy the attention. She really does, but it's hard not to when Carol's golden hair somehow flows elegantly even when the Louisiana air is still. It's hard not to when Carol looks just as domestic and in love with her child as she's sure she does herself. And yeah, call Maria simple, but she has a thing for that stupid flight jacket that Maria's not even sure why Carol keeps around but is secretly thankful that she does.

Maria breathes a sigh as she stares at her companion from across the couch. Carol has since turned her head back to the movie that Monica has fallen asleep to.

It's a split second decision. One that could cost her (somehow she doesn't think it will though). One that stems from a not-so-simple revelation that hits Maria like a ton of bricks. She's in love with Carol Danvers. And call her crazy, but she thinks the feeling might be mutual.

"Where do you want to go out to eat tomorrow? I'll drop Monica off at my parents." Carol seems to startle at Maria's sudden southern drawl. She raised a curious eyebrow.

"Why do you ask? Normally we just eat here. Y'know like a fa-" Carol trails off realizing her almost slip up. She misses Maria's small smirk because she's too busy freaking out.

"Yes. Like a family. But this time I want it to be just the two of us. I’m asking because I’ve seen the way you look at me. I want to go on a date with you because, if you haven't noticed, I look at you that way too."

Carol's brain must short circuit because she's quiet for a good five minutes. Lucky for her, Maria doesn't worry easy. Then a large smile begins to overpower her face and her eyes start to squint. She looks at Maria then the child inbetween and wonders just how much jostling it would take to wake her because she really wants to kiss her mother.

Deciding not to risk it, she simply gives Maria a playful nod, "That little Italian place you like." Then she turns back towards the movie she's definitely not watching with as calm as a face she can possibly muster.

So yes, they're both crazy and they're both simple but they might as well just be both of those things together.

Can I get an example of Mike holding her back from a decision? Because I really think I must be forgetting something. And I don’t count him voicing concern/opposing the plan (without him saying something like “I’m not going to let you do this”) as actively trying to hold El back.

As far as how much El relies on male characters is more of a potential story flaw than a character one. For almost the entire first season, all she had were male influences. Then, in the second season, all she had was Hopper until she finally found Kali. I don’t blame El for attaching herself so tightly to Mike. After everything she had been through he was the first person who didn’t care who she was or where she came from. All that mattered was that she was cold, scared, alone, and needed help. He did all he could to keep her safe. Not only that, but his presence was comforting and he literally taught her what a friend is. So really, her reliance on him isn’t surprising.

That’s why I think the break-up this season was good. Not only did it remind me a lot of how my friends were in high school, but it also opened up El’s world a little bit and gave her a chance to experience things for herself. Thankfully, she also got to learn from another girl her age. 

Yes, you are right that he needed Max to call him out on what he was doing wrong, but I think the point should be that he actually listened. I don’t think we should expect a 14-year-old kid to always understand what he is doing wrong (and I am talking about him and the lying and getting jealous of Max. Not him worrying about her overusing her powers). Most of the time I think it takes even longer to sink in. But he reevaluated what he was doing and tried to correct himself. Let’s not forget a lot of people would just keep insisting that they were right.

Here is to Arya and Daenerys meeting in the books and admiring each other and becoming friends and doing what they're best at: being kind to those who never have justice and changing the world for the better *clink clink bitch*

Honestly? They have so many parallels it’s insane. Lost princesses. Orphaned. Exiled. Losing / refinding their identities. Dragons eye / wolfs eye. Against slavery. Rescuer of the down trodden and innocents. Makes friends easily. Wants to go home.

I’ll never forgive them turning Daenerys into her worst fear and killing her off and having Arya leave winterfell when her entire arch is about GOING HOME ugh I’ll drink to them *CLINK CLINK BITCH*

I think Arya is a Hufflepuff! Jon is probably a Gryffindor Daenerys is a Hufflepuff/Gryffindor mix Bran definitely a Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw mix Tyrion a Slytherin Those are my takes though idk I may be wrong

I don’t know honestly they all have so many traits and qualities hm. I like that jon is a gryf and bran is hufflepuff/ravenclaw. NOt sure about arya being a hufflepuff though, but she also values loyalty very much so, so maybe?? I like that daenerys is a hufflepuff / gryf mix. Hmmmm. Much to think about.
