I’m not totally sure if it’s a Hufflepuff secondary thing, or a *human being* thing, but I really, really, REALLY identify with this bit that @awinterrain wrote:
in some ways it feels like i have to build the knowledge/ information/ whatever into myself and then let it speak itself rather than trying to direct it, which probably makes no sense to anyone else.
obviously i need to actually know the material to be able to do that but i still need to in some way let the text write itself rather than trying to force it. same thing if i’m doing a presentation of some sort - i have to know what i want to say and i’ll write a script (or list of bullet points more like) but when i’m actually presenting it works better if i just speak and i’m *always* better at answering questions than i am at presenting a prepared text.
when i played mmorpgs a lot i’d maybe look up encounters since it was expected but it never felt at all helpful. i always felt like you need to know the basic mechanics of the game and of your class but then you have to actually be in the situation to learn the rhythm of the fight. watching videos of others playing the same fight won’t help because, for me anyway, it’s much more about getting into the flow of it and finding the proper rhythm.
