Attention fellow Downton/HughBon Fans

Fellow HughBon fans of the great online and beyond, I have a small fan project alert for you.

As you may know, Hugh’s birthday is coming up soon (read: in barely more than 24 hours cough cough). I already talked about it on twitter, but @emma-hahn and I will be in London attending an event he’s at about a fortnight after that and thanks to an amazing acquaintance we might get the chance to quickly meet him after that.

Emma and I thought it could be nice to organise a little something to surprise him belatedly for his birthday, so we thought we would ask all of you to contribute if you want. We want to collect a few messages from you about anything and everything you might want to say. Then the two of us compile them all, make a card, and give that to him (should everything play out the way we hope).

Really, it’s nothing major, but we would love for others to join us and say something kind.

If you want to participate, then please reach out with your message to either Emma or myself by Nov 20 so that we can put everything together nicely.

No thoughts, just bearded HughBon

I was away a bit and I might disappear again, but I couldn't not make this post…

So, in honour of it being one month since we officially got Bearded HughBon (™) back, here is a post with all the pictures we got since then (as far as I am aware, that is). I was tempted to simply post the pictures with the title, but that would not quite cut it in my opinion, and so I compiled this.

(I also have an assignment due in a few hours I am still heavily procrastinating, so there's that as well. But we won't mention that)

August 30, 2024:

First, the pictures that had me and some of my dear fellow HughBon fans in a chokehold because we did not expect them in the least. These are taken from Hugh's post on Instagram/ X and the Berkeley Repertory Theatre's account on Instagram — Hugh will star as the title role in Uncle Vanya both at the Berkeley Rep in California and later the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington from February to April 2025.

Next, we got this shot of Hugh with his old friends and colleagues Sir Howard Panter and Chris Luscombe backstage at the Rocky Horror Show, posted to Instagram on September 11.

September 12: Hugh was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Theatre at the University of Chichester (photos taken from the university's website and Instagram page)

On September 13, Hugh posted these two photographs of himself (with the sculptor Philip Jackson) in front of the newly unveiled Dante statue in Midhurst. The third photo shows him giving a speech and reading an excerpt of Dante's The Divine Comedy. (posted online by SussexWorld along with the article)

And finally, today, September 29, Hugh posted this photo of himself alongside Judy and Robin Hutson, who just opened a new hotel in the Cotswolds.

That's it. No (well, almost no) thoughts, just bearded HughBon and the newsboy cap as a little bonus. Send post.

another bonus I found while making this: a manifestation post by yours truly from earlier this year. And yes, I do take this as a massive win.
