Rewatching the fire scene and like imagine being Edith. You had your sad edgy moment where you threw a book into the fire and then you went to sleep and then you wake up on a chair in the hallway, the house is on fire, there's smoke in your lungs, your dad is running through the hallways screaming, and your questionably queer underbulter is bent over in front of you shaking and coughing uncontrollably

When I heard the cottages line in the final film, I couldn't believe my ears as it's so sweet to think that Mary is still honouring and remembering Matthew's legacy after all these years. It's also hilarious that they are still working on those cottages 18 years later - that's building work for you!
