My grandma was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My mom went to help my grandparents sort through some things at their house this weekend. They plan to move out by summer. My mom returned and brought a nightlight with her. It’s now plugged in next to my bed. It feels like core pieces of my childhood are breaking/falling apart…..we would visit them once a month, and the nightlight was in the bedroom my family shared. I’m glad they didn’t just get rid of it, but it’s not supposed to be here - it’s supposed to be in that bedroom in their house…somehow it feels like they’ve died, even though they haven’t, and the house…..it won’t be right, and nothing feels right…….I just feel so sad……😭
