I used to make monthly fic rec lists, and while I don’t currently have that energy, I thought it would fun to occasionally highlight a WIP I’m reading!

In the offseason, a steamy video of Shane and Ilya dancing at a club goes viral. Already out and married for years at this point, the first husbands of hockey can't believe this is news. For once, it's Shane whose media responses blow it up even further. Ilya’s not about to let an opportunity to compete with Shane go to waste.

This fic is so fun and hot! The premise starts with Shane and Ilya being irritated over the media’s obsession with them doing things that het couples do and they turn it into a competitive, flirty, horny competition that the public, likely enough, also gets to enjoy. It quickly escalates, as any competition between these two does and I love how much it shows they know each other. Their posts and actions had me laughing, swooning, and feeling flustered.
What I also enjoyed was seeing their teammates be just as invested, while all the while chirping them. The group chat is *chefs kiss*
It has a little bit of a social media element with some Twitter and Instagram posts and I always get a kick out of the fun and creative usernames.
The current chapter ended on a campaign ad that the description alone had me screaming so high pitched only Anya could hear it. You will not look at a Canada Dry the same 😉 I cannot wait to read the beginning of the next chapter.
