humans are space orcs au: hows the humans healing rate compared to other aliens? (e.g. the time it takes to recover from an injury, the amount of damage and blood loss we can take)

Humans definitely have a higher healing rate compared to aliens, but sometimes alien’s like to overplay how great they are.

Many myths spread about how humans can come back to life after death (cpr and defibrillators), and that humans can basically survive any situation.

Humans can loose a lot of blood compared to aliens, but many aliens have not evolved to have their blood clot to stop bleeding. Their bodies almost naturally have hemophilia.

(Aliens have to have a lot of advanced technology to even survive a super deep cut. In many cases were a human has pack bonded to an alien they are their saving grace by knowing how to stop bleeding and set many bones and dislocations. A lot of aliens have forgotten basic first aid because they have technology to do it for them.) So a broken bone for an alien in the middle of no where can mean certain death, and for a human with slight medical knowledge it would be a minor but painful annoyance.

I also like the idea that humans have a higher pain tolerance than aliens because of our deathworld. Aliens also have more of a risk of dying from blunt force trama, and that’s why their space ships are some of the safest means for transportation ever. Human’s also can survive more stressful situations with our survival instincts.

I also think Humans heal faster than Aliens because we had to heal fast to survive in the early days of humankind. Many aliens don’t have any natural predators and most of the races are peaceful so they never really had to worry about their survival.

(I like to think that that’s why a lot of alien’s technology is so advanced because they didn’t need to worry about survival first.)

But yeah basically a human with basic medical knowledge is like some sort of healing freak to an alien with technology that does it for them.

Hell yes, i’m here for this! are most of the other alien races of the universe similar sizes to Jack or do they vary up and down around his height? ALSO, what are some of the ‘Humans are Space Orcs’ traits you’re going to include in this AU? (i’ve seen the poison/alcohol tolerance so far)

Alien sizes!

I want this au to have more of a mini giant and dwarf size vibe. Humans are one of the tallest creatures in the universe besides a few other alien species like the Enders. Enders are around 6’5 to 7’0 ft tall, but they are in no way a deathworlder when it comes to a human. Enders are in fact seen as one of the most peaceful races. Other aliens like Jack are usually under 5’0. The smallest alien is probably around the size of a kitten.

And for the “humans are space orcs” traits, Humans are basically untouchable. Most things humans eat or drink, aliens wouldn’t even think about. Example: alcohol, acidic foods, caffeine, and spicy foods. The drink that Jack was having at the pub in reality was mostly sugar and it has the tiniest amount of alcohol. To much alcohol would definitely poison an alien in a short amount of time. So honestly it was like a drop of it.

Humans are also very strong when it comes to aliens. Humans can easily over power a small group, and when it comes to an adrenaline rush, aliens can only pray.

Humans are also persistence predators by evolution so we basically terrify all aliens by being the top of our food chain on our planet. Alien’s are also terrified of Earth because of how violent our wildlife and nature is to them.

But there is also a lot of misconceptions about humans. Like how we are only carnivores.(Niki is vegan) That all humans are super aggressive and they’ll kill you just to kill you. That humans aren’t sentient. So basically a big scary monster.

And to answer your question, yes! There is a language barrier between the two. But Niki knows a little bit of words that are in common like “safe”, “food”,and “hurt”. Jack only knows common, but translation devices can be bought.

Also Jack does not go back that night. In fact he believes that he is trapped with Niki, even though he hasn’t even tried to leave yet—

He ends up staying with Niki for a couple of days before Niki has to go on a supply run. In that time they try to get over the language barrier with Jack trying to teach her common. All the while being slightly terrified of her, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t interested. Niki is also quite curious about Jack.

When Niki leaves one day to go foraging she beckons Jack to go with her. He honest to god thought he was this humans “prisoner” or worse “pet” but this foraging trip allowed him to see that he was free to go. Niki honestly just thought that he wanted to stick around this long.

So when they get back to the secret base Jack tries to ask her about where the trading town was. He ended up having to draw a picture in the dirt for her to understand what he was talking about. So Niki dressed up in a cloak and covered her face. She took Jack back to town. She even went to a few stalls and bought some food. Jack was amazed. He said his goodbyes to Niki. He was so surprised he lived in an encounter with a human. Niki gave him a soft smile and pat on the head and even drew him a map so he could come back to her.

And strangely enough Jack found himself wanted to go back to her. Next time with a brand new translator and a few books on common. But first he would return to the pub and claim his victory.
