The Institute of Human Anatomy is a unique facility specializing in the utilization of human cadavers as instruments for advanced anatomical education, medical device training and prototype testing.We provide a state of the art education experience utilizing human cadavers for those engaged in or seeking a career that requires the study and understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
For 3rd party medical device trainings we provide lab capabilities of 1-5 stations, classroom(s) with all necessary audio/visual for up to 60, and an on-site cafeteria.
We work directly with career and vocational colleges, accrediting agencies, medical device companies, and individual healthcare and wellness professionals to further advance education and medical understanding of the human body and its many systems.

Mark T Nielsen – Education Advisor
Mark Nielsen is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Utah and for the past twenty-five years he has taught anatomy and its related subjects to over 20,000 students and has trained 1,000 young anatomists to be teaching assistants in his cadaver lab. In addition to teaching human anatomy in the Department of Biology, he also teaches neuroanatomy, embryology, a human dissection course, and a teaching human anatomy course.
As a celebrated anatomist and anatomy professor, Mark has received the prestigious Presidential Teaching Scholar Award at the University of Utah, is a five-time recipient of the University of Utah Student Choice Award for Outstanding Teacher and Mentor, a two time winner of the Outstanding Teacher in the Physician Assistant Program, recipient of the American Massage Therapy Association Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award, and a two time recipient of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Mark has authored numerous books and software programs including Principles of Human Anatomy 11th ed. by Tortora and Nielsen; Atlas of Human Anatomy by Nielsen and Miller; Real Anatomy by Nielsen and Miller; Human Anatomy Lecture Manual and Workbook by Nielsen; and Anatomica by Nielsen, et. al. Mark is also a member of the American Association of Anatomists (AAA), the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), and the Anatomical Society of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI).
In his spare time, Mark likes to travel, hike, dabble in photography, and play with his grandchildren.

Our Facility
The Institute of Human Anatomy is located in an education campus that is shared with Granite School District, Granite Technical Institute, BioInnovations Gateway, and Utah State University. Classes, workshops, and medical device trainings will be held in a state of the art laboratory fully equipped with audio and visual presentation capabilities. The lab is outfitted with all necessary equipment, protocols, and security to ensure the safety of students and trainees.
We are conveniently located 15 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport, less than 10 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, 30 minutes from Park City, and less than 45 minutes from 7 world class ski resorts.
Jonathan Bennion – Co-Founder/Director of Education/Lead Dissector/Anatomist

When Jonathan is not teaching or dissecting he enjoys rock climbing, basketball, and traveling with his wife.
Jeremy Jones – Co-Founder/Executive Director
Jeremy is a serial entrepreneur and thrives on new ventures and experiences. He has a BS from the University of Utah and an MBA from Brigham Young University. He has engaged in a wide variety of industries from restaurant, retail and manufacturing, to real estate, fitness and technology. He is passionate about learning and education and the opportunity to provide todays healthcare professionals access to this type of educational experience was something that he could not resist. Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family of four, camping and the great outdoors, and is an avid fan and player of soccer.
