it always compels me that shu will immediately cut himself out of nazuna's life. especially because he is such a prick about it. like nazuna does not need shu's absence. what he fundamentally desires is shu to not a) loath himself while wallowing in self pity and melodrama and b) idolize nazuna
shu's reactions to his mistakes is to Refuse change (on the surface. i think it's evident that he Does and Has changed) and act like he is born like this forever. he acts like he is stuck in his ways permanently, while nazuna is able to embrace new life, join new units, etc. but nazuna very clearly does not believe this about shu (hence his anger here)
and it's affirmed multiple times by other characters that nazuna loves valkyrie, he loves shu and mika, and he regrets hurting them even though he needed to do this for himself. like nazuna does not want shu to disengage with him, he wants them to exist together in a way shu feels he's incapable of inhabiting
a) incredibly awesome shu's gut reaction remains "deride mika" followed by him backtracking and explaining his feelings and b) every time mika makes talks like an anime girl i giggle
