Apparently this half-formed SU college au is still something my brain likes to think about sometimes?

Anyway, here’s Jasper:

-Just barely graduated high school and joined the military immediately after.

-Was discharged after a horrific accident that left her with PTSD and scars all over her body.

-Decided she wanted to go to college after she recovered and try to start a new life for herself. Still has not declared a major because she got interested in too many subjects and can’t pick.

-Surprised everyone, but especially herself by actually doing really well in all of her classes. She’s ranked third in her mechanical engineering class, close behind Pearl and Peridot, and never misses an opportunity to be smug about beating them on tests or assignments.

-Rides her motorcycle to class and knows exactly how cool she looks doing it. Might also be in a biker gang, but will neither confirm nor deny this.

-Has a hopeless crush on Pearl but doesn’t know how to make a move. Once pretended to need her help fixing her bike after class as an excuse to hang out with her, but has not yet asked her out on an actual date.

-Is on the school’s kickboxing team with Garnet. The two of them carry the team to nationals every year.

-Jasper was a surrogate older sister to Amethyst while she was growing up and spent a lot of time taking care of her when her parents weren’t around. They lost touch when Jasper joined the military, but reconnected while she was recovering from her accident.

-Despite not feeling very optimistic about it, Jasper and Amethyst decided they would apply for college together. This provided motivation for Amethyst to finish her senior year of high school, and gave Jasper a concrete goal to work towards in her recovery. They both continue to be a major source of support and inspiration for each other.

-Jasper broke her nose pulling an elaborate prank with Amethyst when they were younger. She used to think about trying to make up a cooler story about it, but eventually decided that the real one was way more entertaining than anything she could come up with.
