Assuming being a furry is a quirk on its own here’s my answer:

Mae goes to UA only to be expelled. Her quirk has something to do with bending reality, but she doesn’t have good control over it. Bea really wanted to go but alas. She’s a croc, can do everything a croc can. As for Scriggins - he has a minor quirk and doesn’t bother working on improving it.
