writing, writing the art of writing ----
Do you say what you mean?
I certainly try to, as much as possible. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes when I feel I have been so clear, someone will still misunderstand me because they are coming at things with their baggage and their perspective. and we are meeting in this place of misalignment.
Do you write what you mean?
I think that I do and I have been told that I write well many times by people I consider to be very bright. I am clear, succinct and at times poetic. I believe in the power and words and always have - they mean so much to me which is why sometimes things hurt me when they should since I take them the way that I shouldn’t.
I was listening to a podcast this morning that was talking about that, being offended is a circumstance of the false self. It is only when you are in your ego that you feel the capacity to feel offended. It has been a good lesson for me today.
Focus on learning don’t focus on the feeling. No one likes the feeling but what can you learn.
What is the farthest place you hope your words will reach?
When you write things on the internet, who knows? The possibilities are endless. Sometimes I want to share words because I think they will help people and it can extend further than me. Sometimes I feel like everyone needs to learn what I am learning now because it is so interesting and it helped me so much. But then I remember that it helped me because of the place that I am in and the veils that I have been able to pull back and not everyone is there.
I shouldn’t use my knowledge to police people or be superior. I know that.
What is the closest place you hope your words will reach?
To Daniel, right now. Maybe my family. Maybe my colleagues. Feeling understood is a beautiful thing.
How near to the language of your roots do you stay?
There are certain things for which I only know the portuguese word.
How far from the language of your roots do you wander?
I have moved far away from it but this is a good reminder that I should re-connect. A very good reminder. A goal that is set now.
Do you or have you ever written in another language?
not really no - i never learned how in my own first language.
Do you or have you ever thought in another language?
yes i remember thinking in portuguese once I had been there for many weeks when I was about 11 or 12. it was an interesting experience.
Do you or have you ever felt in another language?
Love of course. Of course, love. So many of our desires and actions stem from this place - from the place of feeling like we are missing something there, that would make us feel loved. Even though it’s us. It’s always us.
I think my first language is love. I know I am different than other people. The way I perceive and interact and feel into things. I am love.
What are the components of a complete conversation?
understanding and sharing truth and most of all the ability to really listen and hear.
