I’ve worked retail for around 4 months now... and this is my favorite interaction with a customer.

We had two firefighters come in to buy some sunglasses. I was on the register (it was my first shift working as a cashier) and we have some stickers in a display case. The firefighters were checking them out so I asked them if they wanted a sticker. They laughed and one looked up at me with a serious face and asked me “Do you want a sticker? Cause we have some. Ours are cool too.”

Sometimes you just need that acknowledgment that despite being a grown ass adult, you’re still a kid at heart.
