extremely extremely tiring to be around people who just vehemently hate themselves. nobody benefits from you acting like this. cruelty to the self is still cruelty. if i was at an art gallery admiring a piece by van gogh or in a library reading a beautiful poem and you walked up to me and went Ewww thats so bad... you think its good? youre wrong its really bad :/ you would be a certified piece of fucking shit it is not different just bc its your creation instead of someone else's. if a stranger walked up to me and started ranting about how they thought my friend was annoying and ugly i would punch them in the gut. it is not different just because you are saying this about yourself. nobody wants to hear it

paraphrasing my tags from another reblog chain here but this does not come from a place of ignorance. i am intimately familiar with self hatred and the mindset that leads people to talk like this and the REASON i stopped acting like a jackass and spouting this shit 24/7 is because i realized that it was not just about me. it was hurting other people. and i made the concious decision to stop doing that and to begin the proccess of training myself out of those thought patterns and out of saying that stuff. im not telling you to Just Stop but i am saying you CAN. you are not a slave to your mental illness you have agency over your life and your behaviors - your mental illness may make it more difficult to do certain things but that doesnt mean you dont have a responsibility to TRY if it's hurting other people.
One of the things that drives me away from a relationship most is if I give the other. person a compliment and they reject it.Ā

A friend of mine got me into Ice Nine Kills. Like Iām talking it made me a playlist to give me a sampling of its favorite songs to help me check out the band (and even went as far as to tell me an acoustic version of a song that I was too ace forā¢ļø didnāt have the moans š¤£; so thatās why only the acoustic version of Thank God Itās Friday is on my playlist).

Where the FUCK is the tag system search tab!!!!! Iām gonna chew off someoneās entire ARM and BEAT them with it. Violence
Okay so, much like tiktok, the search tab has been entirely consumed by what is now the video/livestream tab (fuckin ew). Canāt tell if thisāll turn out like the group chat feature and have so few people use it that it gets deleted, or if itāll be the Blaze feature where we all abuse the fuck out of it for laughs while inadvertently making them money and driving efforts in the wrong direction- effectively making the app worse despite taking the piss out of it.
Theyāre trying to compete harder and earn more money, and itās becoming less and less recognizable so like. Yeah, Iām a lil worried abt Tumblr man.
Sorry to be spamming my own RBs on this post but IMPORTANT IF YOU WANNA OPT OUT OF SEEING THIS FEATURE AND HAVE NORMAL ACCESS TO THE SEARCH TAB:

I want to give a reminder: you can and SHOULD send feedback to Tumblr staff through the feedback forms on the site. That's where your voice is best going to get heard. I don't use desktop, but here's a guide to finding the feedback form on mobile:
You're gonna start by hitting this little gear, to bring you to settings.
Next, you're gonna hit the top where it says account settings.
Then through there, scroll down and hit the help icon here.
This will bring you through to the Tumblr help page, which looks like this:
Scroll all the way down to "contact support..."
...which will lead you to their contact form. Make sure you change the drop-down to "feedback"- don't report it as a bug, because we want this to get to the right people. IT aren't the folks who are making the changes we need, just implementing it. "Feedback" ensures it gets to the people making the decisions.
I am sure the desktop site has a similar path through the settings to find this form. Please utilize it! This is our space and if they're changing it in a way you don't like (like this bullshit), knowing where to point your complaint is a valuable skill.

Public service announcement.
Blue/purple lips and fingernails is a symptom of low oxygen in lighter skin tones.
In darker skin tones you're looking for grey or white lips and fingernails. Other places where this may be not evidence is the tongue and gums.
Figured since everyone gets taught what low oxygen looks like on lighter skin. Everyone should know what it looks like on dark skin too.

I know that this post was specifically about cyanosis, but I highly recommend checking out the book "Mind the Gap" by Malone Mukwende, a medical handbook that describes and shows photographs of how different skin symptoms/diseases appear on darker skin. It covers several conditions from Jaundice to Measles to Skin Ulcers (although given the brevity of the book, it only covers common conditions at a basic level).
And its been made free to read online as well, and the website also has additional photographic examples of various skin conditions on dark skin.
