Does anyone else wonder if the humans that fell down Mount Ebott between Chara and Frisk were adults? Because they were never stated to be children and there is quite the amount of detail that makes me wonder if they weren’t adults.
First, the fact that based off the items we can find in the game as well as photoshop Flowey's soul attacks, we can infer that the other humans all had very determined personalities/hobbies.
The human with the cyan soul was likely some sort of doctor, or at least interested in medicine, as they owned the ribbon and the toy knife (maybe this isn’t the best example, as a child could carry those, but I feel like the knife isn’t real in order to differentiate it from Chara's) .
The human with the orange soul was likely some sort of fighter, as they owned the manly bandana and the tough gloves. Funnily enough, there is such a thing as "orange attacks" and "orange lasers" where the player must move not to get hurt, implying that orange is associated with a very active personality.
The human with the dark blue soul is implied to be a ballerina more than once, as their tutu and ballet shoes can be found in Waterfall. Papyrus and Sans also use the "blue" mode of fighting, where the soul is now subject to gravity and must "jump" to avoid the attacks.
The human with a green soul was seemingly a cook, as their apron and burnt pan can be found in Hotland. The "green" mode of fighting is used against Undyne, to block her spear attacks, implying that this human likely blocked attacks with their pan.
The human with the purple soul was likely a writer, as Gerson can sell you their torn notebook and cloudy glasses. The "purple" fighting mode is used against Muffet, and the soul moves according to lines, that can evocate notebook lines.
Lastly, the human with the yellow soul had a gun. I do remember that Mettaton’s fight uses the yellow fighting mode and that we are able to shoot at his attacks with the yellow soul. While I do not remember being able to find objects that belonged to that human in-game, I think the fangame "Undertale yellow" is an interpretation of that human’s journey (I did not play it though, so I do not know anything about it). Also, I think it’s not a bad thing not to be able to find their items. Not that it’s a bad idea to give a gun to a child, but Chara had a knife and look what happened.
Anyway, my point is, all of those previous humans seemed to have very determinated (haha) characteristics and personalities. Meanwhile in comparison Frisk has... A stick. A stick and a sweater. As they are a child, it’s normal that they haven’t found a hyper specific field to lean into, but this implies that the other humans had that time.
Consider also that Frisk being the only other child than Chara to fall down into the underground makes a lot more things make more sense. For example, Flowey/Asriel mixing them up with Chara, when he likely hasn’t made that mistake previously, or Monster kid's comment about how Frisk is recognizably a child, because they are wearing a striped shirt. Which so far, the only human seen or implied wearing one is Chara.
Lastly, think about what this means for Asgore especially. While he is insanely remorseful for having killed the six other humans, he simply cannot bring himself to actually kill Frisk. Considering that his last attachments were Asriel and Chara, it would make sense that he struggles with the idea of killing a child much more.
Most fangames and fan sprites depict the other humans to be children as well, or at least to look very similar to Frisk and Chara in terms of size and proportions. That being said, this could be explained by the fact that before the release of deltarune, those were the only two human designs given to the player.
Please let me know if this has been debunked or if this makes no sense at all. I know the game has been out for ten years already, but I only recently played it and was wondering about this. That’s all.
