Sacred Heart, the third studio effort from Dio, is a bit of a mixed bag. It’s pure heavy metal, well made, but compared to their debut and sophomore effort his 1985 album feels more like b sides, or tracks that were made for the first two albums but didn’t make it to pressing. Still enjoyable, but when you drop two awesome albums in a row I guess it’s hard to live up to the expectations for the third. Well worth a listen, despite that. Highlight tracks include the title track, Hungry For Heaven, Fallen Angels, and Shoot Shoot. Available on iTunes and Spotify. It feels weird doing an arm/chest/shoulder focused session on a Monday, but in a good way.
