Hunk, what did you think about the Galra back when you became a paladin vs currently?

“Not entirely sure to be honest. Things have been happening so quick. Its like... When you microwave a frozen poptart. And the plate get’s all hot and you can’t touch it because it will burn you and make you drop it. Too much in one go when you didn’t expect it. And then you bite into the poptart and realize that it is still frozen and cold and that’s the war and how Zarkon treated the Balmerans. It is cold and terrible and you got burned anyway. But then you buckle down and get the plate back in the microwave and you got to be determined and patient to make it work. And uh...”

“I might have made this a weird one. But when you then get the poptart out and it is better temperate... That is finding out Keith is half Galra. That is getting to know the Blades of Mamora guys. That’s getting to know Sal and figuring out he is not such a scary guy. There are like... more galran than the soldiers and the mean commanders and the planet conquerors. They’re just people and they got friends and some fight what their race has become and all that.”

“Oh uh... I don’t know? I’m kind of open. I’m not really hiding my talents. I wouldn’t be good at hiding it even if I tried. How can you not love making something and have other people enjoy it after? When I build or repair a vehicle I give someone their freedom to just get behind the wheel and fly. Or roll if you are earth bound. It feels like an accomplishment to see someone happy that their old car is good as new or that new ship they are getting into are gonna take them further than they have ever gone before.”

“So... Maybe that got a little philosophical or something. But that’s what I feel. The same goes for cooking. People make fun of me eating and thinking of food a lot. Sometimes they forget how much good food brings. Not just to fill your stomach. The whole concept of sitting down, eating together, talking, bonding, celebrating over food and drinks and... Yeah there is a lot of things people don’t really think about when it comes to food. Sometimes it is just something to make you not hungry. Doesn’t matter how it tastes or where it comes from to some people.”

“What I miss the most? I actually miss being able to just sit down outside with a good book or some homework. Yes! Really!”

“Except my life out here in space? I... I keep having to fight to be taken seriously in school and in class. Ever since I was a kid. Being the youngest of four most teachers had already seen and met my brothers and they had me pegged as another one in the row. So I had the expectations that they had all put up and all the same doubts too. Talk about struggling uphill when all you wanted to do was read and pick apart things instead of running around with a foot ball or wrestle.”
