This first peek or what you wanna call it is kind of ish sorta gonna be centered on Origins:
- Marinette and Adrien first met when they were around 6 y/o
- they hung out regularly up until Emilie disappeared and Gabriel practically locked Adrien up in the house
- with Nathalie in control of Adrien’s phone and computer it’s a once-in-a-blue-moon event that Marinette and Adrien even message each other, but it makes them both happy and they can keep going for hours
- Marinette has tried pleading with the man who’s been like a mentor to her, asking him to loosen up on behalf of Adrien but Gabriel shuts her out as well and doesn’t answer any phone calls from the Dupain-Cheng’s
- around a year passes, and it’s mostly defined as gloomy
- Marinette misses not only Adrien but also Gabriel and Emilie; they were like a second family to her
- Gabriel is also the only person who really understands how she feels about fashion, and he gave her pointers (in his own way) to help her get better
- and he misses his little intern as well but obviously won’t admit it
- Emilie was like another mom figure, the one she would ask for help when she accidentally broke something and was too afraid to tell Sabine or invite for a tea party that Adrien didn’t want to join
- Emilie loved to have a little girl in her life that she could pamper and have manicures with; Adrien wasn’t too fond of it
- the Dupain-Cheng’s was on the other hand a second family to Adrien
- they taught him how to bake and manage a house without a butler
- Tom gave him an another perspective of how a father could be, and while Adrien loves Gabriel dearly (he was a different man in Adrien’s childhood) he also loves Tom just as much
- and yes, Adrien gets his puns from Tom
- Sabine is to him what Emilie is to Marinette; another mom figure
- Sabine teaches him martial arts (which she teaches Marinette as well admittedly) but Adrien is her little taster; that boy is never full and always gives an honest opinion
- both Sabine and Tom misses him but they’re also worried about how he’s really fairing with a heartbroken and therefore cold father
- but cue first day of school!
- Adrien has made up his mind
- he’s going to school no matter what his father thinks
- his choice of school is obvious since he already has friends there; Collège Françoise Dupont
- or well, at least Marinette is his friend
- he’s not really sure about Chloe
- either way he’s going!
- he decides to surprise Marinette with it and starts the day with a smile
- Marinette? Not so much
- she ruined breakfast, is absoloutely ceratin she’ll have to be in the same class as Chloe again and now she’s running late (as usual)
-it was for a good cause though, so she’s not that upset
- and she’s happy that the old man made it out okay
- Adrien was at the school just a minute earlier, feeling confident
- he would make it!
- he didn’t
- but helping that old man couldn’t make him too upset
- he did however fail his mission and defeated he goes home
- the next day goes about the same
- only this time, Adrien succeeds! he makes it to school! with permission!
- that doesn’t sound as cool, but he’s still there!
- he eagerly looks around but fails to locate Marinette
- a gasp and shout of “Adrikins!” tells him that Chloe is nearby and soon he has a mess of blonde hair in his face
- but god did Chloe’s perfume always smell this much?
- after an explanation of why he’s there and a quick look at his schedule Chloe is squealing, saying they’re in the same class and dragging him off to who-knows-where
- he sighs, resigned to his fate
- the minutes drag on, with Adrien keeping an eye out for Marinette and at the same time listening to Chloe
- needing a break (especially from her perfume, good gracious) he makes sure that they reach his classroom first so he can locate it before excusing himself to the bathroom
- “no! uh, I mean - you don’t have to take me Chloe, I saw it on the way”
- he quickly scrambles off, taking deep breaths of fresh air
- finding the bathroom he stays there a few minutes before making his way back to the classroom
- and is greeted by a glorious sight
- Marinette is there! Finally! And it seems as though they’re in the same class!
- finally some good luck!
- but she looks pissed off though?
- that worries him, because it’s not like Marinette to be angry
- and it seems as though her anger is directed at Chloe
- not that surprising, he’s seen how Chloe can be
- “Mari, what’s wrong?” he asks while raising an eyebrow at Chloe
- Marinette whips around as quick as lightning
- she has been ridden with guilt of her actions yesterday and Chloe putting the gum on her chair did not make her any happier
- that voice and that person makes her happier though
- but she freezes
- because is she hallucinating? or is that actually her best friend whom she hasn’t seen in a year?
- “Uhm, Mari? You in there?” Adrien asks jokingly, walking towards her and gently knocking his fingers against her head
- inside on the other hand he’s close to freaking out since Mari just stands there, not doing anything
- why isn’t she doing anything?
- Marinette mumbles something he can’t make out, looking dazed
- “sorry? What was that?”
- “am I hallucinating? Since there’s no way you can be real. I mean, uncle Gabriel doesn’t let you out of the house and definitely doesn’t let you attend public school” Marinette says, voice almost close to a shriek
- Adrien grins
- “well, I managed to convince him to let me attend. You’re stuck with me now”
- “I am?”
- “you are”
- then Marinette snaps out of her trance and actually realizes that he’s right in front of her
- Adrien. Her best friend, her brother in all but blood
- and she starts crying
- because he’s here
- and maybe things will get better now
- “oh no, this was an awful idea wasn’t it? You obviously don’t want me here and oh shit I’ve ruined everything haven’t I? I’m sorry Marinette, please forg- oof”
- suddenly he’s knocked backwards, only reflexes making him stay on his feet
- it takes him a second to realise that Marinette’s hugging him
- his panic lowers a notch, because it can’t be that awful if she’s hugging him like this
- right?
- so he hugs back just as tightly, loving to be able to be this close to her again after a year of isolation
- “shut up dumdum - this is the best surprise ever, and oh my god I’ve missed you so much I’m so happy you’re here” Marinette babbles, tears still streaming but a little less now
- Adrien smiles softly and rests his chin on top of her hair
- “I’m happy too Mari”
eeeekkk mah babiesss, they need love and happiness *sobbing*
