It was about 4 weeks after Gate woke of from recovering from the hunt that went wrong. In that time he and Daichi had began to date. Not just Daichi sitting by Gate checking on him while his wounds healed. Actual relationship where Gate complimented Daichi telling him how much he loved him from time to time and Daichi taking it.

“Daichi! You’re back from your hunt! How did it go?” Gate said with a large amount of energy greeting his boyfriend. Gate was as cheery as always trying to actually keep the promise he made to keep his optimism on the winning side, so far so good. “I was actually wondering if you wanted to do like a sleep over tonight? Since you’ve been so busy with your hunts for the past two weeks and I’ve been on investigations trying to help meowscular chef with ingredients. We can cuddle and just hamg out together if that was okay with you?” He says quietly to the other hunter. “I actually just got back a few more ago as well from an expedition turned hunt. Did you want to go and take a bath as well?” His face had a scarlet hue from the suggestion he made but still said it.

Gate was just happy to see the other wanting to just cuddle and kiss him. He restrained himself though waiting for them to be alone. Daichi told him a while ago that he wasn’t very comfortable with public displays of affection and Gate respected that. So he just was full of excitement and mild embarrassment from what he said and possibly if Daichi declines the invitation.

More Headcanon Stuff

Okay so I've been inactive for quite a bit but i still love this character. Gate has quite abit too him and so does his sister but we'll only be touching on stuff they share.

Okay so both Jinx and Gate are not completely human they are part human and part wyverian. So that means that they will age slower than a human would but faster than a wyverian. Like when most people would begin to grow old they would probably look physically still themselves but maybe a bit more defined and adult like after a certain point they will begin to basically stop aging again for a period of time. While most wyverians live for hundreds of years Gate and Jinx will probably only live up to 100-200 years while most live for a much longer timespan. Also they have mainly looks from human biology meaning they have normal looks and five fingers rather than where wyverians have four. But they do have somewhat of claws on their feet as well as pads like some wyverians. They also have pointed esrs like wyverians but less distinguished where it is not as long as a wyverian ear but they do have a point at the end but you can miss it if you're not looking. Gate and Jinx were also orphaned at a very young age from unknown reasons. Also while Gate has more noticeable features showing his wyverian Heritage Jinx took more after their human side more having more human like features for feet but still having pads on her feet and slightly pointed ears.

Continuing to the next part this will be solely about Gate and his history. Before Gate was a hunter he was a smithy and a very adept one at that. When he made something it was one of the most high quality pieces that people could get to the point where people requested that he make their armor. Of course his adoptive father wasnt too happy that he was getting outshined by what he called basically a ugly hybrid abomination. As soon as Jinx had left to become a hunter Gate had left as well joining the hunters guild under the pretense of bei g a smithy at one of the main hubs and not a city smithy. This meant that hunters were actually more likely to interact with him and get his weapons. Soon after he was actually promoted to smith g rank armor and weapons as well. Gate having a photographic memory was able to learn and recreate any item that the hunter requested to the point he was again one of the more sought out smithy to get an item from. Though it did take him more time since he didn't work with anyone else being a oneman smithy doing all the work himself he actually had a wait list you had tk be on if you wanted to order something and wait until he had an open slot when it was your turn since it took him about a week to make something. He did make quite a bit of money doing this. He did get visited by his sister often and he would always make armor for her and making her armor was much easier since he knew her measurements and was able to more efficiently make armor and weapons(aka gun lances) for her. After a certain point in time though he began to work as a hunter instead meaning most people he had worked for as a smithy were now his colleges. This also came with some backlash since they still wanted him as a smithy but he was able to have more freedom as a hunter so he stuck to it. During that time he was a very adept high ranker but never went above high rank since g rank had a large amout of responsibilities he didn't want. So he chose to stay in high rank being able to secretly compile large amounts of notes from the elder dragons he spoke to like the Chameleos, Teostra, and others. There were also quite a few that he couldn't speak with for them being too hostile to get them to consider speaking with him or the monster just being to dangerous to even go near those being the corpse dragon nakarkos and any of the elder dragons classified as a black dragon like the Fatalis whom despise humanty would most like try and kill him on sight not caring he was peaceful or that he just wished to speak. And he knew he couldn't even go to where they were because of the danger.

Finally Gate has two abilities that also help him but one is a dangerous one that could easily kill him. The first one he uses often is his aura sight where his eyes seem to glow and he is able to see the aura of a person and decern someone from that. This ability also has an audatory nature with him where each person has something that is specific to them. The second ability is called mind invasion. This ability is volatile and dangerous to the user. It allows Gate enter the mind of someone and speak with them among other things. This also depends on the verse hes in as well on some of the effects that are able to happen. Though the side effects happen in all verses this being the time spent using this ability will begin to rack up basically begin to kill him where his hair is sort of a clock counting down where once he spends at least a total 24 hours of real time using this he will die. But in the mind time moves more quickly than in the real world. This being 5 minutes in the mind world is only 1 min in the real world. However even if he doesnt use all of the allotted time he still will be in a weakened state to the point he could barely defend himself. This is the reason he doesnt use it because of the side effects that will ultimately completely just kill him whether it be through using all the time he could or because he died while trying to defend himself against a monster but was too weak to do so.

[Closed Fatalis Helm Verse RP with @vaaljaeger]

7 days that’s all it took for Gate to begin to worry about his partner, Daichi, and his whereabouts. Even Genki, Daichi’s palico, didn’t know where he was anymore. Genki barely left Gate’s side or room during those 7 days. Gate was worried about what was going on. He wouldn’t had worried as much if Genki was with Daichi and not with him.

During this time he asked Genki about anything she might know about what was going on with him Daichi. Genki gave him what information she had, apparently when fighting kulve tarroth he had found a helm that was covered in gold. He had cleaned it but he began to act strange when in his room. Genki also gave him the suggestion of searching Daichi’s room for clues to what was going on. Gate had agreed with the palicos plan to search through the room, the only problem is that Gate doesn’t know where it is.

Thankfully Genki was there to help. The palico lived with Daichi before being dropped of at Gate’s room one week prior. Gate followed the palico up the lift and then through a winding staircase onto a walkway with only one door accompanying it. When entering the room Gate was amazed by all of the stuff in there. Sure it was a total mess, probably because of no one really taking care of it from the looks of it, and just the piles and pikes of notes. Then Gate saw the armor stands. That wasn’t regular high rank armor, it was G-rank armor. Gate realized that Daichi was a G-ranker. It was a bit to take it but he stored it under the file, “when Daichi isn’t acting weird” in his memory.

After a bit more searching Gate had finally went over to Daichi’s desk. Right where the Fatalis helm was sitting. When looking at it he knew that there used to be something there that was no longer. It was a dark presence that should have been long dead. Gate ignored the helm and began looking on the desk for clues. Finally he had found it. Gate had found journal entries about everything that had happened. Everything dating up to two days ago then just stopping. The last this Daichi wrote when he was inthe right mind was a call for help.

Gate grabbed the journal entries and stuffed them into a pack and told the palicos what he had found. Gate’s fears had been realized now that he had read those entries. He was terrified and didn’t want to lose him. He refused to think any type of negative thought. The man who had helped him so much, whom he had loved, was strong and he believed in him. Gate just hopes that he is in time and is able to help his boyfriend. Without paying much attention he rushes to the door prepared to look high and low for him.

Gate’s face flushes completely red with the actual first thought coming to mind. He’s to embarrassed to say the actual thought so he plays it off like the other thought is the first, “H-he’s really Handsome.” He says still flushing embarrassed about everything

Bedroom Head cannon stuff

This is not nsfw y’all nasty.

Gate lives comfortably in a room that’s slightly above the second level room. The room he has is slightly larger with a deck that his pets fly about. His pet tastes are mostly normal but does has some abnormal animals that some people might not like. In his aquarium he has two Petricanth he caught while in the vale. On the tree branch is a prism hercudrom he happened to stumble apon while on an expedition. He also keeps a pilot hare, downy & bristle crake, and an emerald helmcrab. There’s also a queen wiggler in his pot and a Vaporoniod who created a web on the deck. There’s also a grandfather mantagrell flying about.

His room is messy with notes strewn about all across the room. The house keeper has given up at this point since it always becomes messy right after they clean it. He is a private person usually with only his sister and palicos are usually allowed. He does make exceptions from time to time but its rare.

He was still on the ground barely leaning against a boulder. “N-no dont stop your research just because I messed up... The palicos will come with the cart soon right?” His voice was still weak from the blood loss. Gates head began to spin but he wasn’t bothered. “This is all my fault... if I hadn’t come with you on this expedition you would have been successful right?” His voice began to crack. “Right when I find something I wanted to live for this happens huh? Its just my luck this would happen.” Tears we’re streaming down his already sweaty and slightly bloody face. “I guess I really am worthless...” He says tears still flowing while trying to put a smile on his face

“U-um, what do you mean?? I mean I understand how you would say that but how you said that was rude, you say that when you are engulfed the vale in effluvium but for me that kinda makes me think you are somewhat only making that benefit yourself.” Gate seems slightly defensive about this because of what he has learned about vaal hazak with the research commission.
