So what are the sexualities of all the kids? I think Chase is gay, but I don’t know about the rest. Also can you ad pronouns and gender identities please?
I gotchu Anon.
Starting with Chase, since he’s the one I’ve made clear for a while,
Chase: Gay, He/Him
Skye: Bisexual, She/Her
Danny: Questioning (aka soph hasn’t figured this part of Danny out yet cuz he’s 8 and she hasn’t thought of giving him a romance, but we’ll see what the future holds), He/Him
Troy: Asexual (possibly aromatic), He/Him
Aurora: Lesbian, She/Her
Rufous: Bisexual, He/Him
Hunter: Gay, He/Him
Outside of Chase and Hunter, at least for now, most of the kids don’t come to the realization of their sexualities until they’re a little older. I’d say pre-teen-teenage years is when they all start coming around to realizing who they are. These types of things vary on the person, it can take one person a while to understand who they are, and it can take another not too long.
When it comes to the aspect of sexuality, identity and romance in HRI, I’m handling it with a mindset of normalization. LGBTQIA+ people exist just the same as heterosexuals exist and it was very important to me to have all this be very normal and clear of subtext. I don’t wanna be someone who vaguely hints at a sexuality for brownie points, no, I wanna have these characters be characters and have that part of them out there and normalized. There isn’t gonna be any shock or disdain over a character’s sexuality from anyone, it’s just them discovering who they are and those who love them are supportive. The Duck Family is very loving in general, and they’d be that same way with their own kids and their discovery.
This type of mindset of normalization is also the same thing I have when handling HDLWLVS now as adults. I’ve always had Dewey’s bisexuality as something heavily normalized and mundane throughout my writing, and that isn’t gonna changed once he’s properly in the story. I do want to add different types of people, such as non-binary’s, down the line and they will be treated this same way. Even with Huey, Louie and the others I wanna be able to normalize how they are in very easy ways and have the proper representation that my friends, readers and I want to see.
Power Duck AU the next generation
Here’s the color I would think that the HRI kids would be if they were Power Rangers keep in mind that I’m using original PR, feel free to ask me questions if you like
Skye- Red
Troy- Blue
Aurora- Black
Chase- Pink
Danny- Yellow
Flash- Green
Hunter- White
Rufous- Silver or Gold
These characters belong to @sophfandoms53
Ooooh Soph you should doodle the gaysss (idk which u can choose they)
When he makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy but ya don’t realize it’s cuz ya like his presence more than you think.
Since you said enzo is gay, i now want some chaze and enzo interaction cause i think it would be so cuteeee, enzo would be giving chase all this advice and they're like "who have you dated before?" "just a couple of guys and your dad-" "WHAT?!" "What". lmao
I love supportive and caring Uncle Enzo with my soul.
Unsure of how his parents would react, if there’s anyone Chase would go to when he realizes his feelings about Hunter, he knows his Uncle Enzo, who has always been openly with men in front of him and the family, would be completely honest with him.
Although Chase wasn’t exactly prepared to learn his father had his fair share of relationships with boys in the past. It did give Chase more comfort that how he feels about Hunter is okay and nothing is wrong.
The only real obstacle is dealing with Hunter’s father.
DuckTales: History Repeats Itself; Hunter Karnage
Young Hunter yearns to follow in his father’s footsteps, to become a great and respected captain! Not for the glory or attention, but so his father is proud of him. But as we know, Don Karnage isn’t known for paying attention to anyone else that isn’t himself. So his son deals with some neglectance. Fortunately, Hunter is never truly alone as the pirate crew has been around to help care for him, or at least made sure he never got tossed off the ship.
He wants to prove he can be tough and take down his foes with no questions asked but.... Hunter’s got the empathy curse. Even giving a simple command is followed by “Oh my.. I’m so sorry... whenever you’re ready..” He never wants to come off too abrasive or angry, so he feels bad whenever it’s his turn to take charge. Something his father isn’t a big fan of. However, there is someone else who lets Hunter embrace this softer side without judgement.
Meeting Chase was interesting for Hunter. He hadn’t really known anyone that wasn’t on board his father’s ship, so meeting this duckling in the middle of the woods was an experience. Hunter himself was out training to be tougher and hurt his knee in the process, to which Chase notices him and goes over to help. Although, Hunter’s immediate response to a stranger is to grab his sword and challenge a duel. Once he realizes Chase isn’t really a threat and a kid like him, he puts his sword down and allows Chase to help. The two form a quick bond over feeling like they have more to prove but also don’t know how to go about it, so they talk about their families and learn more as time goes on. Hunter feels a certain comfort with Chase that he doesn’t really have with anyone else and seeing that he makes Chase smile adds another piece to that bond. Hunter later brings Chase with him onto his ship where Chase comes face to face with Don Karnage himself.
And of course upon meeting Chase, Don immediately calls him Dewey despite it being practically 30 years since Dewey was that height and age.
Which means @nerdydork @raheyyy @damiquack @randomfandomfamily @shizu-twg @hatsunepokeduck + the four anons, you were correct in guessing Don Karnage! Thank you all for participating in this unplanned guessing game LMAOO and I hope you all enjoyed this little insight into Hunter’s character!
