Theory: the Organ Sleepers are the result of GMS's disastrous one night stands with the Old Hearts

She was definitely Grand Freak Silk that night the way she had all the Old Hearts calling her Grand Mommy Silk

as per usual, gms taught her kids very little about anything not related to their divine purposes

(organ spectres lore: all of the sleepers had a "sin" they were exiled for. cotton's "sin" was falling in love with a bug she was supposed to imprison in the slab)

the fleece one was inspired by a post from @extemthehedgehog!

miscellaneous lore for organ spectres (soulblood band au where the sleepers are alive)

fleece plays the drums (she has a lot of pent-up energy she gets to let loose. 18 hour drum solo anyone?)

felt plays the bass (she likes the sound. it's deep and powerful)

cotton plays guitar and does lead vocals (there are many benefits to being made in the image of skarrsinger karmelita. also guitars are just cool)

phantom plays the organ and does backup vocals (not only are they sufficiently Dramatic™, they were quite literally Made to play organ)

they're a fairly standard alt-rock band aside from phantom playing the organ. they get away with this bc "it's basically a giant edgy goth version of a keyboard" (phantom hates when they call the organ that)

lace is involved too, but she's mostly behind-the-scenes. she's their manager and main songwriter

they have plans to go on tour at some point when they establish themselves. the organ was pretty tricky to plan around, but they discovered that they could make medallions of melody out of tightly woven silk, and by infusing the medallions with a little bit of their souls, they can focus their souls to "unravel" the medallions and re-string them into fully functional silkstrung instruments. (basically, a silksong version of the medallions from sonic underground. i thought it was a fun idea)

when they eventually go on tour, collaborating with trobbio and the grimm troupe is a huge bucket list goal of theirs

the sleepers consider the old hearts they were based on to be their parents

the sleepers all look sorta different in this au. felt, fleece, and cotton all got rid of their gms-approved masks in favor of masks that resemble their old hearts, and their outfits are also less symmetrical and "perfect"

phantom looks the same as default burning spear phantom though. you can't improve perfection /silly

soulblood au where the sleepers are alive, but still got exiled to the organ for one reason or another. they start a band or smth

I did some brainstorming and decided to make the Organ Sleepers canon to Ballad of a Burning Spear!

Pollen Sleeper, Fleece

"Better a child spun frail... than none..."

Fleece was the first of the Sleepers. She was modeled after Nyleth, but most of her colors were "purified" from earthy tones to a more neutral shade. Her role, if she had lived, would have been to ensure Pharloom prospered while Grand Mother Silk slept.

Encrusted Sleeper, Felt

"Better a child spun mad... than none..."

Felt was the second of the Sleepers. She was modeled after Khann, and was the first Silkborn to have proper horns. Her role, if she had lived, would have been to lead the armies of Pharloom and destroy any outsiders who dared to try and conquer.

Hunter Sleeper, Cotton

"One wish to our waking..."

Cotton was the third of the Sleepers. She was modeled after Karmelita, and she was considered one of the most beautiful creations. Her role, if she had lived, would have been to find and pass judgement on hidden sinners in Pharloom.

Conjoined Sleeper, ███████

"Better a child spun pure... than them..."

███████ was the fourth of the Sleepers, and the only one to awaken. Modeled after the Green Prince, ███ was the closest a Sleeper ever came to being made in the divine image of Grand Mother Silk. ███ role, if ███ had lived, would have been to ██████ █████ ██████ ████ ████ ███ ███████.

Hi! I’ve observed Pharloomblr for a very long time and like, I’ve always felt intimidated by the amount of effort you and everyone else puts in, but I wanted to ask an interesting question.

How would the Organ Sleepers fit into the Pharloomblr continuity, should they ever have their own accounts? Would they fit the Pharloomblr continuity?

INTIMIDATED??? 🥺 OUGH dude please don’t be shy-send your asks to Phantom (when I open their inbox again) or even to me!!! I love getting them even if it might take me a hot minute to respond to them LMAO

That aside-that is an excellent question, and one that already has an answer. The three Sleepers already have their own blogs!

I think something important to note about this (and I’m saying this with a neutral tone, not an aggressive one LOL) is that what characters someone can and can’t roleplay-in my opinion-isn’t really a question that should be asked. To me that’s almost like policing…??? I understand the context of the Sleepers being semi-popular scrapped characters, but my thoughts stand. Plus-the Sleepers kinda give other muses the opportunity to be creative in acknowledging them! To me it’s not really any different than coming up with explanations for why the Old Hearts are still alive in post-Act 3 Pharloom. There CAN be detailed explanations for it if people want, or they can just exist :3
